If Centrals had two Port Power players they will never ever see again play our final hitout before Round 1 ahead of two of our own players i would be very very disappointed.

We already have 1 player leaving the club because of the lack of oppurtunties to impress in the league trials the last thing we would need is players with no affiliation to the club getting a run before players we need to be getting a look at against the oppositions best.

I would be surprised if any SANFL clubs have their round 1 side locked in as yet you would think they would give priority to their own players.

Would have thought they would have wanted to play a match as close to real game situation as possible

Tend to agree but it's a compromise for both clubs as their round 1 matches are Thur & Fri next week, and a proper hit out on Sat would have been too close for them.

Agree you wouldnt want to be playing any later than tonight as the days rest is probably most crucial.

I would have thought though that a league game full length would have been most important and then fit the reserves game around the time constraints.
