I think everyone wrote off the Eagles at some point during the season
- ie after ANZAC Day with a 0-5 start
- after the QB Holiday Monday game when they lost to Glenelg kicking 1.8 in the first quarter and 8.21 for the match.
- when they lost to South at home July 7, then Norwood at home the following week
- when they went to Elizabeth, went goallless for the first half and kicked a club record low 3.7.25
- when they lost to Norwood a few rounds back going scoreless in the 2nd & 4th quarters.

I has always thought that percentage would be our issue and we would get to 8-9 wins but miss out on percentage ... the 92 point victory over North changed that, it was almost worth 2 wins that game.

As for the finals, seriously, who knows?? .... but should be fun finding out. :)

Now sitting 0-3 and looking likely to be without new skipper Luke Powell due to a long term knee injury. The season has gone from bad to worst and now a trip to Prospect to take on a resurgent Roosters who have now put their season back on track with a much needed win. The Eagles the only team without a win after 4 rounds have the competitions worst percentage.

Where to from here?

There's your answer PhilH. this thread started after round 4 ffs. A tad early to be writing anyone off?

After round 16 Eagles still bottom of the pile, snuck into top five for first time after round 23 held position at end of minor round - round 24. Most precarious position last five minutes Vs port, round 21.

Huge effort by the Eagles. Massive respect. Could they do some damage? Can't see them stealing a flag but could hurt some other clubs, though.

Was never in doubt that they'd get there (at least I don't think I was).

Was staggered with their performance and (apparent lack of) conditioning in Round 1 which was just abysmal, so the slow start didn't surprise me .. But too much quality and experience not to have improved from their early season slump.

It will be a terrific story if the Eagles can win a final, a bigger story if they jagged a spot in th GF and what a sensational story it would be if the actually won it? Long shots I know but I bet the footy writers at the 'tiser and S M are already thinking about the headlines.
