Gill was a Rookie, so how is he going to get a game without a long term injury??? LeCras has been on the list for 4-5 years and done NOTHING.

"Dominate" is a powerful word....

and Clayton did get games with the Roos....

LOL @ MT79

Yes Clayton did get some games but they didn't hang onto him thats the whole point of the argument i'm making. And Gill, well as a rookie, he could have been promoted onto the senior list at years end. And....as i said, they couldn't make it with the Roos but are now dominating at SANFL level.....

Its not rocket surgery

Gill dominating.............i dont think so.....................

2nd in the Magarey and even better when fit this year (just ask anyone who saw the game at Adelaide).
To be truthful Ive never seen 1 player dominate a game as much as Gill did this year against Sturt in one quarter, ever.

Exactly. Nearly won the Magarey in his first year in the comp. Kicked nearly 50 goals this year. You might question his consistency as he's that sort of player but surely you can't question his ability to dominate games of footy.

AFL footy is all about time and space and working hard to create that time and space for your team mates

my question.

can Gill be an even better forward at AFL level, given he will probably get the third defender, may have more space to work in and you would hope he would get cleaner delivery then he does at sanfl level

Personally I think the only thing that may let Nick down at the highest level is his kicking but he's been working hard on that.

agree, watching some of the North games on fox footy this year, my view was he seems to struggle with dropping the ball from hand to foot, this then dis-joints the entire mechanic's of his technique

but in saying that, it is correctable, he may never have a Llyod technique but I am confident he will improve this area of the game

I am really looking forward to watching Nick go around next season, I believe he has something to offer the crows 2007 forward structure

Yeah, don't know if it is fixable as he's fairly un-co in a lot of things he does, hence why he's called the emu. If he gets a game or two he'll certainly do some exciting things and the fans will enjoy it. A great down to earth lad too, the Crows lads will get along a treat with him.

Lecras was on the Kangaroos list for 3 years, not 4-5.

LMAO - thats one of the funniest things Ive seen

FWIW, if it sticks, it is Rocket Science or Brain Surgery....

Totally understand that Gill can dominate a game but these blokes are saying DOminate the Competition, a big difference, I would have thought the only bloke who maybe close to getting this title would be Clayton a couple of years ago

Hehe its actually a play on words, i chose those words deliberately....theres a chick on one of those late night Quiz shows that uses the term.

I guess none of us really knows how good Lecras will be, he could become a dud like Ahmat or a champion SANFL player like the Gowans or J Clayton. Only time will tell, really, as with all the AFL expeienced players that come into the comp next year.

im not saying Gill isnt a good player but i dont think he is a dominant player, only my opinion and of course i have to bow to the better judgement of the North faithful that have watched him most of the season.

A signing that was reported in today's Advertiser of Port getting a guy named Brad Murray will probably slip under the radar a bit.
FWIW I rate Murray very highly from having seen him play for West Perth under current West Coast assistant coach Darren Harris. I'm pretty sure he won their best and fairest in 2003, in a year that West Perth won the WAFL flag in a side that included Brent Lecras, Kepler Bradley and onetime Crow Brendon Logan.
Think that Port fans will be happy with this bloke.

We have done some fairly good recruiting this year. The best part was avoiding signing Cupido, even though I was a fan of the apparent signing when it was first heard about.

My original excitement about apparently signing Cupido was the goal scoring power we would have in 2007 with Waterhouse, Hargraves and Cupido. But then I came back down to earth, and remembered Cupido is fat and lazy.
