For those not at the game something very special happened tonight, Ive seen it done in the AFL but never seen it done at the SANFL especially at an allocated Sturt home game tonight, Kev on the Roost summed it up beautifully:

Kev wrote:Jars taking the players over to the grog squad at three-quarter time was magic. You just had to be there - the players moved over to the scoreboard pocket and the groggies in a red and white wave descended from the hill onto the scoreboard terraces - almost a merging of red and white. At the same time cheers went up, the backs of chairs wer e drummed and the rooster chant went up in the stands - it was tribal and gave me goosebumps. Virtually silenced the Sturt supporters who could feel the oncoming inevitability of defeat.

It was something very special, never seen anything like it at SANFL level especially in front of a crowd of only 2500.
The noise, the passion, the vibe was absolutely incredbile, Ive never seen anything close to in a Grand Final.
Andrew Jarman dragged every player, official and water boy over to the Grog Squad pocket of Adelaide Oval, all the time Darren Jarman was on the side of the group waving his arms madly in the air getting the crowd revved up even more.

Something that every North supporter in Grog Squad pocket will remember for the rest of their life. I kid you not.

Ive never seen/felt anything like it before and I hope Im wrong but I doubt I'll see/feel anything like it again, it was truly amazing.

Robert Pyman did the same thing @ Brighton Road 6 or 7 weeks ago, when the scores were close @ 3/4 time. Not quite the same number or level of support from the South faithfull. And obviously didn't work
He's still my hero even if he is a little bit crap.

Very good Wedgie. I suppose you love andrew jarman now.
But it was more than a victory for Greece. It was a stirring example to free people throughout the world of what a few brave men can accomplish once they refuse to submit to tyranny.

As has been the case for his entire tenure I loved some things he did and I hated some things he did as was the case with all North supporters on the hill who gave a big cheer when Jarman realised for the 20th time that Josh Coulter is not a full back.
IMHO Macgowan completely outcoached him in the first half but the way he helped lift the players in the 2nd half was unbelievable and nothing will ever take away from me the moment when he brought the players over to Grog Squad Hill at a designated Sturt home game to have the supporters and players inspire each other.
In the words of an idiot on Channel 7, "it was special!" :D
