[quote][Not sure that the dogs have anything to complain about at all - closer inspection reveals 2 six day breaks, with the rest being 7 or 8 day breaks (excluding byes, obviously).

Who we play, where we play and how long since we last played someone is largely irrelevant./quote]

Totally agree, we only play North and the Eagles twice, so that is very handy. At times i think people get a bit carried away with the intracasies of the draw. Everyone plays 20 games with 3 byes, every team gets 10 home 10 away, and the teams you play 3 times is rotated every year for every team. I think it's as even as we can get for a 9 team league.

Finals footy?? Given the program states finals to played at a neutral venue that leaves three possibilities:

Footy Park
Thebarton, and given they have scheduled the State game there,
Norwood Oval.

IMHO given they have scheduled the state game there and it has been used for finals in the past, Norwood appears to the leagues preferred option. However given tehy say Neutral venue one can only assume the league are banking on Norwood to be done and dusted for 2008 by the first week in September.

Personally I would like to see teh finals return to Footy PArk, primarily for the players sake so they can play on the ground the SANFL built for them originally - Football Park

tassie I agree with you I'd like to see SANFL finals at Footy Park again

But I have to admit when they are played there it looks like 36 guys running around an empty stadium which isn't a good image. Adelaide Oval works much better when the crowd is only 10,000 or so.

Just thought about this... with the State game at Norwood, who gets beer pouring rights?

West End is a sponsor of the league and has a logo on the jumper, while Coopers is sponsor of the ground!

Conflict of interest?

W-T-F We play 4 out of the first 5 games away, only have 2 games at Thebarton Oval, play 3 games on saturday afternoon in direct competition to the Crows at AAMI Stadium. Smart thinking SANFL not. Looks like they want to make it as difficult as they can to avoid yet another Eagles finals appearance add to that 2 trips to Prospect and Alberton. Again I say W-T-F.

I am very disappointed that there are only two Eagles games scheduled for Thebarton Oval nest season, while there are eight at Woodville. This is bad for the Eagles, too, as everybody knows what poor crowds Woodville Oval attracts.

Given fine weather there should be 9,000 people at Coopers Stadium on Friday March 28th. Over 7,000 braved the wintery conditions at the same Venue on Friday June 22nd.

cd may be better to comment on this, but there is a massive Logistical Involvement with Eagles playing games at Thebarton. Unlike the supporters who can just roll up and do whatever, on top of the 10 Away trips that Support Staff have to deal with, they also get to pack up and move everything for a home game as well.

Couple this with the Juniors also playing away on those weekends and that puts quite a strain on transport and "changeroom" resources.

SANFL shafts ROOSTERS
ANZAC DAY 25/04/07
CD V NA

PREVIOUS GAMES
NA play PA at Alberton Sunday 20/4
CD play NW at Hamra Saturday 12/4 then have a bye

Let me work this out
NA have a 5 day break
CD have a 13 day break
AND lets play this at Hamra just to top it off

Very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very UNFAIR.

doesn't the league directors discuss the programing before it is announced publically ? if so north agreed to it & well at least you'll be able to back central district & win

People are constantly bagging the Eagles poor crowd attendances at the best of time. Given the fact we have a high portion of our supporters who also follow the Crows I am willing to bet that there will be a lot that choose to see the Crows.

Let's face facts Mal you probably wouldn't win this game anyway even if you had an even break. Having said that I believe the SANFL should have programmed the same as 2007 giving the 2 teams the bye in the round prior to this clash.
