I can honestly say that most of the other clubs don't deserve any respect the way they behave, an exception is definately Central in this regard,

You cant be serious Wedgie! Central are the only club ever fined for salary cap breaches!

Centrals' salary cap infringment was a bunch of DVD players given to footballers as a "gift" for winning a flag. The SANFL regarded this as paymant and added it to the tally, pushing it to around $3000 above the ceiling. The club appealled, it was halved and Centrals copped a nominal fine.

What WAS funny was the dickhead Eagles boss who squealed like a stuck pig only to see his beloved Wiggles pinged for a salary cap infringement one year later.

South should have moved to Bice Oval.

Given the poor crowd at Noarlunga, the cost of petrol and the bye, let's just say we must look at not only the Cap but the drawing power of clubs which have struggled.

To the credit of the SAFC, they do everything possible to attract supporters to Noarlunga.

Problem is:

It's too far from the CBD.

True, but a successfull South Adelaide would (& should) have all the Southern suburbs behind them (City of Onkaparinga would be one of the largest council areas in Adelaide).

Their hospitality is second to none but they should realise that the Pokie Venue has seen them survive, not their on-field performances.

Do we allow them to cheat the system, receive a small fine for their indiscretions or do we see the SANFL finally stand up and say:

Get Numbers down there or else...

They need some strong Senior Management, ones who will make tough decisions, & this wil flow on throughout the club, the results being success, & then support.

How can we possibly be over the cap at the moment when 3/4 of the season hasnt been played so therefore 3/4 of payments havent been paid.

This is what a lot of people seem to forget. The investigations were for LAST year.


If you think back it was only South we were all talking about last year - at the end of this year they will look at this season then we will know about this time next year - but I would think if one club north-west of town wins the Premiership they wont care - the tradition lives on.
