Will be unchanged IMHO apart from Goldy, perhaps (& why the hell not, after 24 goals last week?)...
Corbett, Day & Hicks to play 2s unless Goldy out, then Hicks IMO

Also keep in mind Banner will come into the team if he doesn't play with the Power (he's currently an emergency).

Why would Goldy miss LEH .He trained Wednesday night.Banner coming in I could think of 1 that would go ahead of Goldy.

I would be cocky as well if we were travelling like the eagles. They are certainly the best going around at the moment. Lets hope they think they have won the game before they turn off and knock the living day lights out of em as we did against Sturt. Can live in hope.

That may have worked in Round 1 but i think South will command enough respect from opposition teams that they don't rock up with the same mentality. They may not be a good team yet but they are good enough to knock you off, or give you a decent shake up, if you are not at the top of your game.

He's missed all of the season to date and I think would have had a limited pre-season with that bad abdominal strain.

Surely he'll have a run or two in the magoos before making it back into the senior team ?

Fuuny about Josh that he has never gone onto any great heights. Three years ago he was starting to play some really good consistent footy strong marking, good run off half back and could go forward and kick goals as well. Maybe either injuries have caught up with him or plays better in a stonger side as in 2006.
I hope he can get back to near his best form for the remainder of the year. Can only hope again that we can get back to those 2006 days. Should have gone further that year with the team we had. It was an absolute joy to watch them kicking over 20 goals a game for at least 10 games of the year. Bring back Cupido and froggy davey.

You did beat the eventual premier, the Eagles, late in the Minor Round but I thought that fourth was about as good as you could expect. You pushed North in the first semi, you probably had your chances, but North were just a bit good in the end. Remember that North and the Eagles only lost 4 minor round games each, that year. I thought that you were still a bit behind them

Yeah, agreed saintal, at his best, I've always thought that Josh is a very good, hard at it, versatile footballer...

Didn't he spend some time on the Sydney Swans list ? Good to see he had a run in the 2's last week and went well also...

Played a couple of games for North Melbourne I'm certain. (edit: looks as though he did spend some time with Syd too..) We got Scott McGlone from Sydney.

On the topic of 2006, the best game Thewlis played for the club IMO was the memorable Elim final that year. Was dominate around half back, especially in the air, while also drifting into the middle.

I thought there was a Sydney connection there somewhere, I knew McGlone spent some time on their list as well...

That was the game I thought about, the elimination, when posting my thoughts on Thewlis, he was very dominant that day...

I see Jared Polec has been named in the Under 18's. Fair step back after playing some good league footy at the end of last year.

SANFL rules more than likely Aerie .If your in the under 18 state squad you can not play reserves or league until after a certain date.
Pretty certain last night he trained with the league / reserves squad along with a few other under 18's
