Game was spoilt by 1 umpire in particular who missed the blatant stuff and then seconds later would pay a baffling free, when players from both sides look at each other and dont know which way the free has gone says alot about this guys umpiring. Thought 2 of the 3 umps were not too bad.
Very lucky and happy to get a win at a venue we struggle at against probably the best lineup that Sturt could produce.

Mate, name the umpire, if they are not up to the standard, name them, dont let them hide behind an apron.

Avon was a dead set shocker, reckon he made 90% of the crap calls and missed some absolute howlers.

gee the sturt supporters gave it to the umpires as they walked off...thought it was a bit uncalled for...they didn't cost them the game it wasn't that bad. didn't sturt get a few frees in front of goal in the last. anyway i really don't get why heroes stand by the race and verbally abuse young umpires as they walk off. happens with all clubs. the way some people carry on really doesn't encourage young kids to take it up.

people carrying on about the norwood guy waving his flag on the race...so what? he was only supporting his team

what about the knuckle head sturt supporter who was on the players race cage just abusing the umpires...what the **** were weslo doing

the norwood guy was just supporting his team and only yelled out once he was pelted with beer cans by a bunch of angry sturt supporters

other than that..sturt are a much improved side and it could of been a different story if they ahd of kicked straight.

Nicely dressed up mate
Here's a point of view you might want to acknowledge.

this is what one Norwood supporter wrote on Redleg Talk

"Just one sour note from the match - the Norwood fan with the beard that leapt on top of the players race post game, waving the flag, giving the finger to the crowd, inciting them and spouting off some of that filth to the Sturt fans - if you had been dragged down from there by Sturt fans and attacked, you only would have had yourself to blame. I've seen you doing this crap before to opposition fans, and then running to Weslo when it gets tough. If you're going to dish it out, expect it back, otherwise grow the **** up. Our club doesn't want to be seen as sore winners and your "performance" today was a disgrace."

......or not!

Disgraceful crowd behaviour ;)

Sturt and Norwood should be banned from playing Sunday afternoon games at Unley from now on.

If its the same clown im thinking of then he was being a tool all day. Security stood near him for most of the 2nd quarter and he was giving them a gobfull. In the last quarter Tambling got a very soft free kick and numbnuts yells out that he only got the free kick because he is "black". Even Norwood supporters were telling him to f**k off.
Ive had a few run ins with this guy in the past and is the reason why for the last few seasons I have moved to a differant viewing area at home games

you know ya had a good day when you clap the umps off the ground then clap your team off the ground. I know I did.
At the end of the season the ladder shows wins, loses, draws, pts for, pts against, percentage and premiership points.
It doesnt show frees for, frees against, how many games a side was undermaned due to injury.
We won, you lost. Move on.

It also doesnt show how many times Power listed players have broken the hearts of s.a.n.f.l fans.

No mate it isn't who you are thinking of. I reckon I know who you mean as I to have had a go at him, especially after a home loss to West. The guy with the flag said nothing until pelted with half full beer cans. The Old Strut w@nker crushing the young girls against the race so he could abuse the umps was far worse.

And the hairy old Strut Ewok hopefully took my advice and she went home to shave!!

Proves one thing though - WESLO are crap in any situation.

And this is coming from me, the worse loser of all time, and the most arrogant winner of all time!

BTW we won, you lost, sucked in!!

well... yes he reacted poorly but only after he was verbally abused by the angry sturt lynch mob....that might of then encouraged them to pelt him with beer cans, quite entertaining really i don't see any harm with jumping up there to wave a flag to support ur team off.

what concerns me though is the sturt muppet who was actually up there over the cage bit giving it to the umpires like nothing else with spit coming from his mouth. weslo should of pulled him off and kicked him out.

who would want to be an umpire???????? and they are integral to our game. but it doesn't matter what they do they get abused like nothing else...it's got to be taxing mentally.

Agree but I have seen a few games that Avon has been umpiring, not just Glenelg games, and this sort of behaviour seems to be the norm. He definitely gets the crowd involved :D

The good old Centrals persecution complex in full swing, Cornesy had a massive crack at the Sturt cheersquad last week.
