Final Siren.

Eagles 16.13(109)
Port 7.11(53)

Lomas kicked 4 in his return to league footy.

Tassie you still gotta win next week mate ;) It would be good to see Glenelg knock Port out in the first week though, but you will struggle when you play Centrals the week after :P

For some reason i thought Port were actually half a chance for an upset today. They had a good first quarter but that was it. They are only making up the numbers in the 5. Either South or Glenelg will pose more of a threat than the wharfies.

Port played their 3rd last game of the year today.
Poor umpiring [favoured eagles]
Port were useless.
Im glad I went, LOMAS was sensational.

Very dissapointing result for the Pies.

Eagles are definately a class above us at the moment. We have a lot of work to do if we are to do anything in the finals.

We got the ball forward enough, we just couldnt do anything with it. Hier in his first game killed Waterhouse. Morrison was bloody useless which meant again AhChee (who beat Passador) had to go up forward to try and get us back into the game.

Harry did well, Ilett was alright. AhChee and Baird held Passador and Grocke pretty well all day. It was the runners that killed us in the end.

Cicolella, Heir, Lomas, Mckenzie were great for the Eagles. Symmons was good as well.

The umpiring was a total joke. They lost the plot in the 3rd quarter. Tony Dey is a complete disgrace of an umpire who should never ever umpire Port games. I beleive he is a Port supporter (his family sit the row in front of us at Power games) but he screws us over every time we get him. Like its in the back of his mind that he has to give us a harsh time so noone can call him biased. In the end he just looks a complete goose. Never ever seen a crowd go ballistic like that at a quarter break before.

We'll get thrashed by North next week. What happens in the first week is up in the air.

All that result means is that we should have the minor premiership by the end of next round - you can't just turn up to play against any side, even Sturt. And that's all the players should be thinking, while we toughed it out, then got on top, all it means is just another win. Not the flag.

What a return to senior footy by Brodie Lomas. I'd put him up in the best three players on the ground. His chasing, tackling, desire to get in and under for the ball, able to get free and skills were outstanding today. He was never afraid to put the body on the line; and kicked 4 goals to boot. Jarrad, Cicolella, Powell, Zac Hier - Waterhouse was benched in the 2nd I think because of his great effort, Symmons with 4 goals as well, Jacobs and McKenzie were all fantastic.

Where was Jeremy Clayton today? Did he play? I thought I saw him kick 1 goal, but I can't recall anything else from him. Poulton played ok, AhChee was good on Passador.

I know the umpiring favored us, but I don't think that can account for 56 points.
