Considering he orchestrated the AFL clubs into the SANFL without the knowledge and agreement of the Commission or League Directors, it is entirely possible

Why if you say he is a backstabber ??(as per above)

Think Jimmy may be pointing out that the Commission and League Directors need to shoulder the blame, not the person paid to implement it............

If he got that through without the Commission and League Directors knowing what they were voting on he is a genius!

As I recall, the clubs had it within their power to stop it, but the majority chose not to.
I'm against it as much as any of you, but take it out on the clubs Boards.

I don't know the man, so I'm not prepared to 'bag him'.
That said, I don't think it is inappropriate to suggest that 'on his watch', he has overseen the biggest upheaval in the SANFL since 1990.
It would also be prevalent to note that by his 'rubber stamp' of AFL Reserves Teams in the competition, has indeed alienated many core supporters & contributed significantly to loss of revenue for Clubs both through Membership numbers & Attendance figures.

I wish him well but can't say I'm sorry to see him go.
Now if we can just see the other 7 CEOs go the same way...

Teenage rejoinder alert. Some balance please; whether we like it or nor, the SANFL Clubs do receive an extra $100,000 per year from the AFL Clubs being in the competition. If crowds and membership numbers drop significantly, I'll absolutely agree with you LPH and it should be seen to have happened under his watch.

Hey Topsy - how is Joe? Enjoying the extra work from his puppet master?

According to dave Cavenett at the presidents lunch the 100k isn't close to covering the loses Centrals have seen this year in drop off of income because of the decline in memberships, crowd attendances, sponsorship, match day takings, facility usuage including president lunches etc etc

It would be a prick of a job, I couldn't imagine dealing with some of the people in various lead roles in clubs without losing the plot.

Except the 7 CEO's had nothing to do with the AFL reserves decision, try blaming the Presidents instead.

I'll put it under John Olson & Leigh Whicker's watch
The buck always stops at the top when the decisions are made there
The decision to bow to the AFC threats was made by them and the clubs
Shoot the generals, not the soldiers
Haters want to blame everyone regardless
If that was acceptable, there'd be carnage at SACA
Putting the SANFL ticket prices up to $12 is an operational decision made by Davies' predecessor
Now there's a f!!! Stupid decision with a longstanding effect

Maybe Davies shouldn't of overruled the recruiting bans to assist with league directors voting YES!!!

Whatever your thoughts, it would not be an easy job.

I also have a inkling of someone who may be very interested in the position...
