To borrow from cricket parlance, a couple of even tempered taps back to the bowler when smacking consecutive 'pies' over the grandstand would have been so tempting.

Aaaanyway ..... I don't think too many of us punters would have openly predicted yesterday's margin. FWIW, holding Retz to a few goals is not easy when his side is so dominant, so one or two of your guys can hold their heads high.

I notice that North had 1.2 (8) to 3QT; the last time North were in single figures at 3QT was the 1914 FInal against Port (0.. Since then, this has been only the 17th occasion (all post WW1) this has been done. And only the fourth since a lower 3QT score (than the 8 points) was kicked (1.1 by Norwood in the 1988 2nd Semi)

North were sat on 8 points for about five minutes short of two quarters (early second to early last.)

Awful crowd, ironically the only reason I went was to get there early and pump money into Centrals to thank them for their voting against the AFL sides inclusion.

Cheers, both crowds since the AFL reserves entered have been awful. Definately a failed experiment, I can see Central going belly up from a strong position if the status quo remains and we don't kick the Cows and Powder out, they're impacted more than most and are fully justified with their vote.

Hearing from a good source that there was dissent in the coaches box. Drs told Handby that an injured player on the bench was right to come on so they could take an injured player on the field off. Apparently Handby refused and wanted to keep the injured player on the field to "teach him a lesson". It took the Football Managers intervention to make the sub!
