Good idea Macca - here are my predictions and we'll see who got the most correct after the count. :)
Spelly - do you want to have a crack at the Eagles votes?

This is taking into account all the stats, plus best players as voted by the coaches, the newspapers and the many judges on Snouts Louts.

R1 vs Nwd: 1 McConnell (Fisher is the other one with a chance)
R2 vs Eag: 3 Douglas, 2 Moore (but this was an even one - Logan, Backwell Panozzo also chances)
R3 vs CD: 3 Backwell, 2 Rogers, 1 Fisher (Smith, McConnell Douglas also chances)
R5 vs NA: 2 Logan (he was clearly our best)
R6 vs SA: 3 Fisher 1 Backwell (Logan, Moore are the other chances)
R7 vs WA: 3 Douglas, 2 Backwell, 1 Logan (this is fairly clear)
R8 vs PA: - (Fisher is the only one with an outside chance)
R9 vs St: 2 Backwell (Cranston, Logan other chances)
R10 vs Nwd: 3 Logan 2 Smith 1 Sherwood Fisher next best
R11 vs Eag: 2 Moore (our best by a mile)
R12 vs CD: - (no chance)
R13 vs NA: - (possibly Clarke or McConnell if they are feeling generous)
R15 vs SA: 3 Backwell 2 Graham (next best McConnell but he could easily poll too)
R16 vs WA: 3 McConnell 2 Backwell 1 Douglas (this was quite clear)
R17 vs PA: 3 Gibbs 2 Backwell 1 Moore (this was clear too - probably Gibbs' only votes for Glenelg)
R18 vs Nwd: 3 Backwell 2 McConnell (possibly also Mitchell, Cranston, Allen)
R19 vs St: 3 Kirkby 2 Backwell 1 Allen (other chances: Mitchell, McConnell?)
R20 vs NA: 2 Duldig (Backwell a chance as well)
R22 vs CD: - (no chance but Smith and Backwell were our best)
R23 vs SA: - (let's forget about this one!)

This gives totals of

20 Backwell (+2 other games with chances)
7 Douglas (+1)
6 McConnell (+4)
6 Logan (+3)
5 Moore (+1)
4 Fisher (+3)
3 Kirkby
3 Gibbs
2 Smith
2 Rogers
2 Graham
2 Duldig
1 Allen
1 Sherwood

Total: 64 votes

So seriously, Backwell is the only Glenelg player who can win, and he does have a real chance.

Good work Spelly. That actually covers who are widely regarded as the 4 favourites - Clayton, Backwell, Cicolella and Inkster.

Would be good though to see an analysis of Archard, Kenna, Younie and Slade's chances, as they are probably the next 4.

Hopefully we could get someone to represent each club and then from all of them work out a full table of votes.

I'd like to see someone have a go at the South votes. I think that someone like Handby or Kenna and later on Davey will poll well, too.

I find all this hype around Archard to be quite interesting. I know this is a generalization, but "everyone" seems to be saying things like:

I think the fact he was 50/1 half way through the year has promoted the discussion.
And quite a few got on at that too.

I was just making a point that Archard seems to be everybody's "dark horse" for the Magarey, when he is really one of the main favourites (3/1 with Thorntons).
