All discussions to do with the SANFL

If you give us Salisbury,Mt Barker and Morphett Vale as youth zones we might consider it.

Still rather drive to Unley then Mount Barker
Im guessing thats most peoples preference as well ????

As MT79 mentioned sides who go bushwalking and give up home ovals
are the ones who are perched closer to bottom then top
WA = BERRI
SA = ENCOUNTER BAY
ST = MT BARKER ????

Never seems to be teams like CD/PA .....

AFL teams who give up home ovals to promote AND PROSPER etc are also sides who struggle
WB = SYDNEY
ML = BRISBANE
KA= GOLD COAST[WAS CANBERRA]
SK= HOBART[IN THE PAST]
HW= HOBART

STURT keep your Unley oval advantage and put a few leaflets in the Mt Barker area
to promote the club and sell a few more chook raffles

How many of those premeirships and g/final appearances were achieved when they played thier
home games at interstate venues :?:
Cant remember Leigh, Dermie or Dipper playing in Hobart
And the King or the Horse would not have played too often in Canberra if at all

Utter garbage utterly not ...

North Melbourne played one match at Manuka in 1998; and 3 in 2001. They have played 3 each year from then on.
They played 4 home matches at S.C.G in 1999 and 3 in 2000. They had 1 home match there in 2001 and 2002.

Merely defending MT79S logic in that clubs that sacrifice home state games to play home
games at interstate venues end up towards the bottom of the ladder.

YOUR QUOTE
I cant remeber any Hawks home game in Hobart either MAL ??/ wrong again

Look at the 2007 draw if your confused
7 games at the MCG
4 games in Hobart [ are they home games ????]

You win on techicality
We will make it Launceston
Officially Aurora Staduim where they play 4 times in 2007
The place they play 4 times a year
The place they travel and extra 4 times a year
A place that is listed as thier home games
A place they have played at when they are at the bottom half of the premiership ladder
A place thats probably colder than Mt Barker :roll:

If a business like Bunnings decided that they wanted nine metropolitan stores in Adelaide, where would they locate the stores for the best outcome for sales?

Noarlunga, Salisbury and Port Adelaide would get a gig, yet where would the other seven be located? Would they choose the same locations as the other current SANFL grounds? What company similar to Bunnings would load their stores around the perimiter of Adelaide rather than having even distribution? Hardware chains are currently throwing massive amounts of investment into Goolwa, Victor Harbor and Mt Barker. Clearly they wouldent be doing it if they didnt think that those areas contained the best returns for new business. Businesses relocate for that reason, the SANFL needs to give the issue the same consideration.

Businesses don't carry public hopes and passions like the SANFL soujourner - and 3 + 7 = 10, not 9 :wink: .

If the SANFL were establishing itself now, then your theory would be sound, but I reckon there would be a lot of crumpled tweed around if Sturt were to consider a move, as opposed to the 'camping trip' they currently propose.

It will happen eventually -moving to where the population is. One of the sad things about footy is that it will only happen when clubs have no choice - look at Fitzroy and there are one or two Melbourne clubs too many who will eventually be forced to move. A sad indictment of a lack of administative talent in football clubs.
If you think happen to any of the current SANFL clubs (ignoring that WWT was forced to merge) click on the 2005/06 financial results of the clubs (under 2007 SANFL info at the top of the page) and see which clubs are in danger of extinction.
We used to be good :-(
