I'm just very annoyed we couldnt even show a fighting spirit and play for Von Williams. She would be extremely dissappointed with the guys today.

Port look as though they are pretty fragile once a couple of players are out. Add Waterhouse and Clayton and Port may have been able to run all day with North, add Tredrea and they could possibly run with Central all day, maybe even beat them. That's just going on the results they got when those players were on the park.
Can be a good side, but appears to be on a delicate balance.

To be fair we were missing quite a few players today.

Waterhouse, J Clayton, Poulton, Butcher, Elstone (played his first game in a long time in the reserves) and Jenner.

Thats a lot of class and skill around the midfield which is exactly where we were pummelled today.

Doesnt excuse the dismal display out there though.

That's quite a list Macca, but how many of those players have played this year? Genuine question because Port seemed to be very strong in some games, yet are still capable of losing like they did today. I am just trying to put a finger on what is causing the extreme difference in form.

Without doubt the softest Port performance I have ever seen . I think our clearance rate is our achillies-heel but today we obliterated Port.Could not believe the amount of 1-1 or 2-2 battles North won with ease today.

Given the merde your guys dished up on Friday night I'm sure Le Cras would be a good fit for the Bays.

Now while I just hate to agree with you Topsy, we can equally say the same about Craig telling Benny Hart (the absolute champion) that he was finished. Correct call by both.

Have to agree too ... was thinking the same thing today about Hargs. As much as I was a fan of his at North.

Well done today Roosters :D

North were superb today, bad kicking for goal was the only disappointment... it could have been a record margin at Alberton (not sure what that is though.. spelly???). Superb performance though but the opposition was lacklustre, I expected a more committed performance by Magpies due to the unfortunate passing of Von. The weather was good though which certainly helped our cause.

I love playing at Alberton.

What a great day, started out with the most unbelievable minute of silence Ive ever heard, could hear dogs barking at Prospect it was that quiet.
Hargs was good, the game was basically Hargraves v North, Hargs did exceptional to kick 3, if he played in North's forward line today he would have kicked 13.
A Port supporter summed it up beautifully early in the 2nd quarter, "its like Boys v Men" he said.
Its almost getting boring beating Port at Alberton every year, almost.
The Crows stuffed up, shouldn't have Gill in their squad as Alleway would walk into any AFL side.

Oh and my son got best player today despite being one of only 2 year 2s in a year 2/3 side in a great win!

What a day!

:? Sensational Cocks !

What a shame we couldn't kick straight, getting close to our biggest winning margin
against them every year !

Should of easily been today, with the amount of scoring shots at ease
and at one stage, the commentators said, it was like a training drill and port were standing around like witches cones.

Also North have won 9 out of there last 10 games against port and last 4 at alby !

obviously we dont mind playing them in recent times, its like centrals against us !

Just seems like yesterday that all the North supporters were celebrating "roast Pork" at Alberton for the first time in many years. Now it is sort of like a Roosters home away from home.
There is definitely an era changing hands here. Port losing like this on their home ground the Saturday after the club's all time greatest matriarch passed away (RIP V.Williams), and the Roosters now four on the trot on the Magpies' once sacred turf. Maybe the Roosters aren't the dominant force in SA footy ATM, but they are definitely doing their bit to bring the old tyrants down.

Could the Roosters be a chance for the GF? I get sick of seeing Centrals in it, its nearly as bad as Port used to be.

Spelly's got some stats in another thread called '28 points' - Roosters were 5 points off inflicting Port's biggest loss ever at Alberton
