draws are always full of shoulda coulda and woulda's, port will blame inaccurate kicking and we can maybe say we should have rushed a point in the last thrust forward, its a funny surreal feeling - not happy not shitty just blah, personally the result is acceptable for the simple fact that we seemed gone in the last qtr (according to post match comments) i listened to the last 3 minutes, i cant bear to listen to paul blandis all the time the guy would have to be the WORST EVER commentator he needs to take a box of prozac or valium or something, he is just unbearable to listen to whether the bays are playing or not by the way, anyway lets take half a pint of celebration and set ourselves for next week at adelaide oval i cant wait to get there it should be an absolute beauty and i will go out on a limb - GLENELG WILL WIN! simply because sturt are due for a let down

GO THE BAYS!!!!!!!!!!

He thinks he's a legend. He took about 15 seconds when he should have just got it in there as quick as possible.

I wrote a whole big review after the match and when I pressed submit the server error message came up and I lost it, so I cant bebothered re-writing it.

Port won the reserves. Hargy kicked 5. Duldig 4 for Glenelg.

The league. Dissapointing result. Full credit for Glenelg for continuing to work and pressure and they go their first result at the ground for a million years and they deserve the point.

As for us. Weve forgotten how to win. We kicked ourselves out of a win for the third time this year. 14 points up with 10 minutes left, you should hold on. We tried to slow down the clock too early and our skills arent anywhere near good enough to hold onto the ball. Still, it was the behinds that cost us. Waterhouse missed a couple. Mieklejohn missed a sitter. Lecras ran into a goal about 25 out and put it on the full. Dolling missed from 25 out in the last quarer, albeit from a tightish angle. In the third quarter we fartarsed around with the ball in the forward 50 for about 10 minutes for no result then Glenelg ran it down the other end for an instant goal. Our skills and decision making is deplorable. We dropped about a dozen chest marks, constantly fall over, defenders fly for spoils they simply shouldnt and their opponent runs off with the ball.

Glenelg were probably unlucky in the end. They had two cracks at scores in the last 45 seconds but didnt make it on both occasions.

Giniver's decision to drop Hargs cost them a point, be interesting to see how it pans out.
Im not sure how long a proud club like Port will keep accepting mediocrity.
Im just stoked 2 teams besides North and South now have a draw to make our % a bit more interesting as the season progresses.
Disappointing effort from the Bays as they were a much better side in form wise and had everything to play for to get their first win at Alberton in 2356 years.
They should get Jars to coach them there next year, more pain for the Bays fans in the meantime.

Is this a poor result for Port or a terrific result for Glenelg ?

- Legends game marred by embarrassing commentary from Beefy Curtains over the PA.

- The Port players can't take a mark to save their lives.

- The Glenelg players can't make a tackle stick to save their lives.

- J. Clayton very quick to drop the knee into a Glenelg player prostrate on the ground. Was once a good player but is starting to let himself down with crude play.

- Inconsistent umpiring mostly favouring the Magpies, but neither side could capitalise from bad decisions.

- Port had most of the play in every quarter, particularly in the last. Poor kicking and lapses in intensity kept the Bays in the contest.

- Full marks to the Bays for not dropping their heads when behind. Keep the heads up and with that attitude they'll win more than they lose.

- Glenelg was one well-placed punch away from victory - but lucky to be in that position in the first place. Port let a win get away; Glenelg lucky to salvage a draw.

Win = 2 pts
Draw = 1 pt

2 - 1 = 1

Simple mathetmatics really, even for a Port supporter I would have thought?

Funny stuff there politician Wedgie, now answer the question!!

How would us having Hargs in the team today have ensured we won the game? At least Clive lead for the ball and made a contest, which is something Hargs didn't do in the last couple of weeks. There were times where there would be a pack contest last week and Hargs wouldn't even raise his arms up. No sane person who saw Hargs lack of effort in the last few weeks could question his demotion to the reserves this week. And I put Harry Miller in that category too.

Anyone with half a brain has seen that besides Rd 1 that Port play their best footy and are a 10 goal better side than normal with Hargs and Waterhouse together.
Draw + 60 pts = 60 pt victory

And that doesn't even take into account Harg's record against the Bays which is better than most other teams.

I was hoping Port would do well this year but will laugh my tits off if the 1 pt from this game costs them a finals spot. :lol:

It well might cost us a spot in the finals this year, and I agree 100% that Port are a lot better team with Clive and Hargs working together, but Hargs either isn't fit or is past the point of being the main focal point up forward and needs to play a support act, but either way, his form in the last 3 or 4 games was terrible and without Clive in the team, didn't step up as was required of him. Therefore, his axing from the As was justified. Jarjoura should have been in the team.
