When I said their own side I did mean the state team, so if there is more to it are you able to say it here? As I understand it... they were told not to drink, they decided to drink.. thus breaking TEAM rules, therefore they do not make the state champs. Pretty clear cut and it may sound harsh but they are letting down their team by going out and getting smashed on the eve of these championships.. plus how many are actually of legal age? ;)

Don't know enough about the off field behaviour and organisation of the Blues but do know that their on field performance this year has been very professional.
Saw them on Friday night dismantle my side Norwood with a brand of football that requires dedication and a massive level of fitness. They ran in waves starting from the backlines and pushed numbers to all contests meaning that no norwood player got an easy touch or space to use the ball properly. They also are disciplined enough to keep their forward lines relatively clear while not hesitating to switch the ball from side to side in order to generate space. They mightn't have any outright champions but they're willing to play for each other and recognise their integral role within the team.
Only problem that I can see is the fitness required for such a gameplan may be hard to hold for an entire year. A team with equal intensity but a greater depth and spread of talent will also find them out.

Clearly Centrals lacked intensity the other week as they have much greater depth and talent than Sturt along with one or two other sides that come to mind.

Sound like there's plenty out there who can't wait for Sturt to show their "true colours". I can't wait until we next meet North and the Eagles. If we beat them do you think Sturt might finally put the 'lack of depth and talent' comments to rest? This side must be considered a genuine premiership contender.

Maybe Clarrie, but personally I can't see them playing in this years GF, happy to be proven wrong though and time will tell I guess, but I agree with Finn's assessment.

I think Sturt is a genuine "contender" so far this year based on it's results but I don't think it is the equal of North based on talent, depth and the fact we easily beat you last time out so I would think that if we match or better Sturt's intensity next time out then we will win comfortably. If we don't have intensity and not pay respect to Sturt or any opponent for that matter, then we will be beaten easily as the Bays showed.

I saw them Wedgie, I just think that they lacked the vigour and degree of frustration exhibited by the Glenelg and North fans (with the exception of Golden Dimwit and his various moles who coincidentally are supporting whatever he says).

It is in the best interests of the SFC for me to make no further comment about the alleged incidents.

Ther matter will be handled with professionalism and no further comments please.

Thanks Jimmy. It was my pleasure to help 5RPH.

A lot of you guys were quick enough to sink the boot in when Sturt were not doing well in previous years. At least have the grace to acknowledge that they have managed to turn their club around full circle. I think that many other clubs would love to have achieved the same. As for the 'unprofessional' incident, boys will be boys. I just hope that they learned their lesson.

No one's denying that they have done well in turning it around - but anyone would think they have set some sort of bench mark or it's the greaterst turn around in league history with the way SP "bangs" on about it. I think most of us get his point and his passion but do we have to have a weekly "I love Sturt" post which if you read it is just a generalisation and doesn't actually address any specific point?

I wonder if the powers to be at Sturt FC print copies of his posts and stick them on the change room wall for inspiration to the players?

The easy way to ensure such posts disappear quickly is to not comment on them BPBRB.

Well it deserved a comment for it's obvious intent to cause a reaction! If you Sturt lot want to defend him from copping it, then PM him and tell him not to bait the rest of us with his posts - it works both ways. What sort of reaction did he (or you) expect?

Whilst I am definately not one of them, I'm sure some of the other non Sturt supporting people would like to hop on the blues bandwagon but there's no bloody room! Clearly SP has spent all of 2006 in the garage lovingly restoring the BW to it's former glory and he is obviously now the No 1 driver!
