The AFL draft period this season has been very kind to us with only Dawson getting rookied by the Power. I really expected to lose a couple more. Oh well onward and upward - I can't wait until the season begins. Micky Godden's Eagle Army will certainly be out in full force especially at the Fortess.

With Dawson very little will change from last season...lets hope he can play alot more games though next year. I thought Jarrad Allmond would have gone, no doubt he would be disappointed but great news for us!

Yep correct Spelly .
Why don't a few Eagle fans wander down to training in the new year.
Get a few mates together have a chat and watch a bit of training .Have some fun after work ;) (and no I'm not employed by the club ;) )
And according to "god" in the new year he will begin getting the guys to do the drills he wants done in the games .
Personally I think the Eagles hierarchy were surprised at the number of "gods" eagle army at the meet the coach and players night.I know they took a heap of money from me in the raffles and we walked out with a bag of chocolates
There's a new feeling around everyone I've met and spoken with are all up and excited about the new footy year.
I know the players and coach enjoy have fans there watching.
Cheers

I am interested in where Dawson will play in 2010 he is to small for FF.Perhaps with some input from Scott Welsh his game may improve!!

any truth in the rumour that Godden has alreday called Parry in for missing training "due to work requirements?

While on the topic, is the big odonus still off on his 10 day in-season bucks party to Vegas; and if so, will the Eagles pick him for their Rd 3 Friday night game v Norwood when he only gets back in, hungover and jettlagged, the day before the game.

Thank god(den) we are not dealing with issues like that any more.

Face it, you really miss him and Boyd. Otherwise you not have devoted most of your posts to them and their transfer fees and other "issues".

Fact is I am am almost more excited about the "outs" at South that any ins we already have or have on Radar. We finished last we these two cancers, and can finish at worst that well again without them. Why don't we now just wait and see if they improve the clubs that have bought, go?

Yes that's right spelly - & Sumner will be missed. He'll go a long way in the AFL - a very talented kid.

Mate your not kidding anyone - both Boyd and Parry will be missed hugely. Keep supporting that rabble you call South mate I guess someone has to. I'd be asking serious questions of your club though. Why are quality players of their stature walking out. Ron as good as he has been is no magician mate. you'll be lucky to contest a finals series in his 5 years at the helm. That is if he lasts that long.

Fact - is we can bore the rest of the readers with this as long as you like but;
Boyd - was dropped for last few games due to poor form and attitude - I note he was conracted for season 2010, but the South CEO statedd in his media release that they would not hesitate in releasing him - speaking to players down there, they too are thrilled he is gone.

Parry - did not even play (or bother attending training) after Rd 9 - he too was contracted - if the club reallly wanted to retain these pretty boys, it could have - it decided to make the right calls and build a side that was going to be an example to its promising batch of kids - not guys that spit the dummy the minute things do not go there way.

Want any more examples of re these guys? I could go on forever - in the best interests in noot ruining their reputation, I have left many of their "off-field habits" alone .... for now

Bunton - why didn't you come on board during the 2009 season and start complaining about your unprofessional players, why wait until they have left and you have turned into a bitter old person trying to justify why they won't be a loss. Maybe winning clubs will improve their attitudes and enthusiasm. You are just a "Johnny come lately" with no credibility.
