Yes, they are showing the finals still.

The Digital Pass and SANFL Radio coverage is in addition to the Seven coverage.

Yes, of course they are.

All of the League finals will be at Adelaide Oval.

They will not be played at suburban grounds due to insufficient facilities to handle double-headers and four different sides,

Lower grade finals will be played at varying suburban grounds, as per the norm.

The SANFL are asking the punter to pay $7 to watch the GF. That's why!

I trust this is not an add-on cost for those already subscribed to the Digital Pass?

Week 2 – $4.99 1st Semi Final and 2nd Semi Final live and on demand
Week 3 – $4.99 Preliminary Final live and on demand
Grand Final – $7.99 Grand Final live and on demand

Confusingly, the SANFL's digital pass FAQs refers to 'season passes' and 'digital passes'.

Q. What games can I see access?
A. Digital Pass subscribers can view all of your club’s home and away games for the Season.

Q. Why can’t I access all SANFL games?
A. Season Passes are sold by each SANFL Club. These provide access to each of the Club’s 18 home and away games.

This suggests that 'season passes' and 'digital passes' are the same thing, so it seems you only get the minor round.

But:

Q. Will SANFL finals be included in the price?
A. SANFL Finals will be included in the Season Pass. This pass expires at the end of September. These will be shown on delay following the completion of each Channel Seven broadcast. If you wish to watch the SANFL Finals Series but do not hold a Digital Season Pass you can purchase a 30 day live pass.

This seems to suggest you get finals included. But since the SANFL are pulling the strings, who can really be sure?

Clearly finals are available on the digital pass but only on delay once the C7 broadcast is completed and one would assume only for the club for which you purchased the pass for? ie Sturt members can only watch the Sturt finals?

Either way....

Not quite 100% true.

Totally agree it was not a good look, at all.

But the SANFL regularly tweet sore updates from all games.

And for those who have one, people would have also been able to view the game on their Digital Pass by logging in via a browser.

I was able to be logged in fine during the West v Port game at Alberton.

"Regularly tweet score updates". No offence Phil but I think I would have let Dutchys post go though to the keeper if that was my only shot. FFS. the SANFL promotes itself as the 2nd best league in Australia after the AFL and the best they can come up with is to offer "regularly tweet sore updates". The powers that be over at the AFL must be quaking in their boots at the digital and social media threat SANFL is too them. All we need now is some actual coverage.

Not having a go at you Phil, just the ludicrousness of those empowered to steer the SANFL ship into the future. Dogger's offspring Dogger_2 has got it right, it does make you wonder what the true agenda is.

That has nothing to do with it, nothing at all. The SANFL isn't trying to compete with the AFL in anyway whatsoever.

What is a problem is the SANFL decided in their wisdom to move to the digital platform for the broadcast of games and it's been a monotonously regular occurrence that the platform has failed to deliver. Not only has the free audio stream failed on more than one occasion but the app and the paid up digital pass hasn't been 100% reliable.

People with limited technology at their disposal or with limited technological expertise are pretty much blocked out of the SANFL every weekend other than the C7 broadcast match, which there hasn't even been on some weekends as the SANFL also decided to have split rounds where some weekends there may only be 2 or 3 matches.

One thing for sure, the SANFuL isn't helping itself.

If you think the SANFL aren't competing with the AFL, or any other sport for that matter, for coverage and subsequent sponsorship revenue that goes with it, then you are either naive or.....
And if you think it doesn't suit the AFL to have an SANFL whose relevance and popularity has been so eroded that is is as significant to them as the WAFL has become then you lack any understanding of the current politics or you are wearing your Port Power blinkers.

Either way I don't really care if you agree or not.

The SANFL does not compete with the AFL, it doesn't try to, it never has, it never will.

Care / know. Same same by the look of it.

The activity on twitter will be promoted as a positive for the league....

Flashscore is the best place for score updates.

Can't see why we need finals double headers and then have to play them at the Adelaide oval.
SANFul should seriously look at the ammos finals system, a better suburban/community feel.
Eventually they will change but as usual a bit slow with the obvious.
