or you find someone that can fix the issue properly and doesn't charge you a arm and leg for it.

Sometimes you have just got to help yourself.
Instead of blaming everyone else all the time how about finding some people to turn up.
If you fill AO every week you will have money coming out your arse, far more than you ever could of imagined at AAMI.
Cant believe in a city of almost a million you cant find 40,000 willing to support you every week, maybe the club is doing something wrong :?

the original deal would of seen us make money at adelaide oval with our current attendances. And like I said in a few post this isn't just a port power issue, even the crows are questioning if it is going to be viable for them. which at the moment it isn't. The funny thing is no one seams to care that our state government has basically thrown away $500million because the sanfl want more money. Actually the funny thing is how many people on here thing the port are so wrong in their one club, but it's ok for the sanfl do a lot worse, double standards I say.

Your crowd has been your downfall since day 1.
Port beat their chest claiming they would pack the ground every week and have failed dismally.
If Port had even managed half decent crowds of 35,000 every week then we wouldnt even be in this situation and everyone would be still happy at AAMI. Blame your so called supporters for bailing on you

IIRC Alberton crowds were on the order of 7000 people in the years leading up to the Port Power entry. Bearing this in mind, and the fact that Port marketed itself as The Real Port Adelaide (tm), alienating 90% of the football support in this state, it would be impossible for Port to manage a "half decent crowd". The numbers to whom Port Power markets itself simply do not exist.

There was a long term agreement between SANFL and AFL to use AAMI Stadium for AFL games.

To get out of this arrangement, the SANFL needed compensation. This was a continuing benefit from AFL football - a 50% share of SMA. Without that, the SANFL would have insisted on remaining at AAMI Stadium.

Already tried explaining that one but 'knowledge' chose to ignore it and go for a rant instead.

your still missing some important facts of this. The agreement for the SANFL to obtain the afl license they need to have a oval which was up to afl standards. And without the licenses they would not be able to insists on the afl staying at aami stadium.

Surely it's in everyone's interest to have strong AFL and sanfl clubs, yet it seems some would rather see the other party fold, even if it means they miss out on revenue themselves and are worse for it.
The AFL sides are What they are because of the sa Footy heritage, while the sanfl is the second best comp in the country.in part because of the AFL generated revenues that are the biggest revenue stream in sa Footy.

I just don't get it anymore. Perhaps our energies would be better spent building another one way freeway.

Great post Timmie.
Watching Port win all those flags and up until a few years ago as an opposition supporter you had to put up with the attitude of Port supporters, and that was fair enough because it all stemmed simply from what happened on the field, and you couldn't argue with the score.
What really annoys me now is this smug, arrogant attitude to the rest of us that because by living their lives through the team they those chose to support they are now somehow superior people in their own private lives because they are in the AFL, and the rest of us can go root ourselves. This isn't aimed at anyone on this forum.

A few pages back someone was pretty smug thinking the SANFL would die without Port. Now it's been pointed out that's not the case, that same someone seems to think it's not fair!
Well excuse us for not rolling over and quietly dying.
I'll still follow Sturt, same as I have my whole life. If that's a crime against the Power they can just go fet gucked. I just can't understand the number of their supporters who believe the SANFL is theirs to kick around as they wish, and further to that, are upset because we are not letting them.
Keep alienating thecrest of SA like they are and they'll never attract new fans.

See the problem with some people is that they just want to have a crack at port. like i've said in previous post this is not just a port issue it is also a issue with the crows. It has even got to the point of the crows asking David Koch for his help because of his finance experience. Do you really think if this wasn't a issue then the crows would be doing that? So in future if your going to have a go make sure you include everything, which means in this case you would also have to have a crack at the crows.
