Not Goddsy. He's taken the coaching job for Southern Districts in the NTFL....

Thank mate, you answered my question above. I was certain he went straight from Flinders Park into league footy with Woodville. Cheers.

Jarman will be looking at the Norwood job surely.

As an Eagles fan I am glad to read the CEO's comments in todays paper about people want to coach the Club. Chalk and cheese the handling of the situations between Norwood and the Eagles.........

Can someone print this article .I cant find it online .
Macguiness that name keeps bobbing up in my travels .

Outgoing Eagles boss Ron Fuller

WOODVILLE-West Torrens will compile a hit-list of candidates to replace retired coach Ron Fuller as early as next week.

One week after Fuller announced he would step down at the end of the season, the Eagles’ board is set to move on appointing his successor.

``In the next week or so we’ll have a meeting a look at who we’d be interested in appointing as coach,’’ Eagles president Kurt Slaven said.

``We’re also keen to see what there is outside the Eagles so we’ll advertise, see what response, make a shortlist and put a process in place.’’

Slaven said Fuller would have full control of the team for the rest of the season, including if it plays finals, and none of his assistants would be given the chance to take the reins and audition for the top job.

``Nothing has changed with our coaching philosophy,’’ Slaven said.

``Ron is in charge.’’

The Eagles have the chance to farewell Fuller in style with a bold showing in this year’s finals series.

``I don’t know if it gives the players more incentive,’’ Slaven said.

``But it does give them the knowledge of the position we’re in.

``All they’re thinking about is preparing for finals and the ultimate would be a premiership that would be fantastic for Ron.’’

The beauty of what the club is doing is giving the best person an opportunity to get the job via a few avenues , that way the club will hopefully get the right man ; its professional and us fans deserve it ! Its the same process that means the club had to part with Fuller , he just does not tick all the boxes anymore .

Witnessed R Macgowan having a conversation with A Rogers in a lonely corner of Prospect Oval last Saturday. Do you think the subject of Eagles senior coach for 2010 may have arbitrarily come up?

2 former club blokes having a catch up chat is a plausible possibility of course, but they seemed to go out of their way to be at a spot outside the oval, that neither would have had any likely reason to be at.

Not sure if he is on a 2 year deal with Hawthorn, but he was also contracted to the Double Blues too before deciding to leave.

I would not discount a Macgowan return to Adelaide next year as a possibility.

PYMAN and Mcguinness have the most boxes ticked , it depends how highly the Eagles rate AFL experience ; if Macgowan was to come back home then that would really make for an interesting situation for us and Norwood .

Why don't you put your hat into the ring Holden78. As it seams that you have a lot of opinions on what the club should do and where it is going. Come on enlighten us on what you are doing.

I have been told that an ex Port Adelaide coach is considering applying for the Eagles coaching job.
This coach does not like losing, clearly creates targets and is very accurate.
He also understands the prevailing wind at Woodville Oval and can make adjustments under pressure
to achieve his target. Very gracious as well and will acknowledge when he has done the wrong thing.
If he gets the job, Nokia may become our major sponsor - mobile phone division of course.
