LOL and what information do you have to arrive at this conclusion?

Do you really think the club were shocked at the loss of any of the drafted players?

The loss of Duigs was the most certain of the lot.

Of course you hope some of the potential draftee's find themselves staying behind (for another year at least, to lessen the exodus), but every single player taken was always a reasonable draft possibility.

I didn't comment on his drafting, nor was it (his being drafted) relevant to the point I was making, he wasn't going to be at the club in 2011 and those at the club that needed to know, most certainly did and therefore had time to factor it into their thinking before the drafts came around.

I agree with you Jim. This year's Norwood were the best side we have faced in a final since 2006. And the coach did it with a group that others couldn't get to click. I am sure that he will see the current situation as a new challenge and Norwood will perform well. That's what a good coach can do. After all look at the injuries that the doggies had this year and they still finished in top spot. A good coach brings out the best from the players he has available.

No way. Carlton had spoken to him and shown interest. At that point they would've know he was going to get a gig as either a draftee or rookie.

They would've had plenty of notice.

Finishing 2nd no doubt exceeded expectations and I cant see them making top 3 next season. More than likely 4 - 6 at best . Early call but i think it will be Dogs , Roosters , Bays , Eagles , Sturt and then Norwood , West , South and Port.

Wanna double up on that $100????

Wishful or hopeful thinking on your thoughts about Norwood? Equally so regarding your thoughts about your own club, Looking forward to Prospect (Hopefully only once) next season.

I'm interested in Tranny's thoughts also!!

I'll take you both on ;)

Some fair points. Norwood won't be taking a dive any time soon.

I am happy Spion Kopster to double our bet to $200. I just think that with the outs you will take a backward step. Similiar to us when we made the GF a few years ago it was natural to think that the following year we will go one better but history shows for a number of reasons that we went downhill. Now if your team from this year stayed intact I would have put you right up there but that is not the case. I like Norwood as I have fond memories of the place BUT I think you are looking through rose coloured glasses a bit too much but good onya. And I dont accept your cheques !!! :)

Come on are you trying to tell me eagles fans dont jump on the bandwagon at finals time. Your crowd went from 500 up to 600 in that prelim final.
Some might come out of the woodwork but at least they turn up

not me Jim05 I have missed 1 league game since 2006 .
We are going over old ground here Jim no idea if your new or a long time forumite .But we online eagles fans are well aware of the low numbers we have.
Still without a huge following like norwood .WWTFC makes the finals 10 out of the last 11 years .
Perhaps no fans but the club makes finals after finals after finals .

Something that your mob used to do way back when I was young ;)
