Trite comment from a supporter whose football club is one of the reasons this thread exists. Port drain the SANFL of something like 14 million causing ticket prices to rise from $10 to $14. And now Port and the Crows want to ruin the SANFL. If having a reserves side is so important give the VFL a ring and see what they say.
And after that ring Blighty in Queensland and ask him how he managed to win back to back AFL premerships without a reserves side.

Trite or realistic?

I support anyones right to protest, but some things simply cant / wont be changed. If the SANFL and two SA AFL clubs want a reserves side, do you think some canvas banners will stop them?

I dont want the Magpies to be a reserves side, I'd be happy with the Magpies reserves being the Powers two's and the league side play on as normal with no Power players.

The solution is finding what can work for the Port Adelaide and Adelaide Football clubs WITHOUT stuffing up the SANFL competition. The system as it exists isn't perfect, nothing ever is. It ain't broke so don't fix it.

AFL Reserves teams in the SANFL Reserves seems to be the most likely compromise. But would this then give the Magpies League team an unfair, (albeit only slight) advantage, given that their reserves would reasonably be expected to always make the finals? (We would all agree that it is preferable to have your reserves in the finals along with the League team, to give fringe & recovering players the opportunity to have match practice.)
Players win touches, Teams win matches, Clubs win Premierships.

No less effectively than a post on this forum will stop a banner from being put up.

You're easily the best weapon in the arsenal pal.

The SANFL are getting itchy for their $3.6M Renault sponsorship cheque, any clues as to when we can expect it?

Hazydog, you need to get new glasses mate or, take a lesson in speed reading to catch up. The proposal is that there will be no Magpies in the SANFL league, only the Power players not picked in the AFL side plus top up from the SAAFL in the seconds competition along with a Crows team in the seconds, basically playing for no points therefore either side will never make the seconds grand final.

If this proposal is put up It means the end of the Magpies, full stop.

FOOT-e TIMES SA is now running a survey on this matter, encouraging all SANFL fans to have their say.

https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/NR2WKYP

All welcome to contribute their thoughts.

If a large response can be achieved it will be good material to pass back to the SANFL clubs.

Topsy, ring the club as they should be emailing you a link every Friday morning.

(Just finishing up this weeks issue now).

As should all clubs, at least that is what they all signed the contract to do.

If you are not getting it please contact the club.

Still no retraction on the 80% claim, weak as p*ss and as out of his or her depth as ever.
