Obst report should go straight to the tribunal, looked like a headbutt causing the cut to Jarrad's head

4 weeks is fair for what he did, wasnt the bravest thing to do when a bloke is on the ground.

If you watch the replay, Jarrad actually has a swing at Obst while they are lying there in the pack...

He doesn't fully connect but you can see it razzes up Alan, but it certainly doesn't condone his reaction...

Alan Obst let's the Dogs' down again with his lack of on-field discipline...

Got no time for players like that.

Any suspension for him is going to hurt us badly. Especially with the run of games we have coming up in the next few weeks.

Does anyone know what happened to Nick Joyce at the end of the match. Appeared he was in some trouble. Missed what happened.

Just a strong tackle by Thomas where his arms were pinned and his head hit the ground. Concussion I imagine. Nothing in it as far as reports are concerned. Unlucky to have 3 injuries in time on of the last. Eagles should have gone home at the 21 minute mark like I did!

Re the Thomas tackle...other players get 2 weeks for pinning arms and smashing heads into the turf. Given it was a soft ground it must have been hell of a hit.

Did you see the vision of it, Jackal? As others pointed out, there was no malice in it, at all, it was just one of those unfortunate things that happen...

I believe Joyce is fine and will have the usual concussion test, by the Crows, ahead of the Eagles clash against Sturt on Sunday. He'll have an extra day recovery as well...

Agree. DOG act. Stupid in the extreme, umpire is about to pick ball up and einstein obst becomes super courageous right in front of him. 4 weeks justified.

By no means justifying what he did, but if you look at the vision, he went back (stupidly) at Jarrad because he tried to half grab Obst in a bit of a head lock / grapple. Obst took exceptioon to that (and no doubt hadn't forgotton Luke's cheap, off the ball punch to guts of Kyle Jenner) and reacted in a stupid manner, paying the price...

It was probably only a 2-3 week suspension, but with a poor record, Obst will miss the 4 weeks, letting himself, the club and team-mates down in what will be the most important part of the year, prior to finals, for the Doggies...

A good record was all that avoided Luke Jarrad being suspended for 1 week. He pleaded guilty, was found guilty but has the clean record and didn't have enough points, after all the early discounts, to get over 100 points and earn a week off. Has 60 odd carry over points now, though.
