Living down South - I will buy a South Adelaide FC Membership for 2014 but won't be a 'South Supporter' as such.
The stance they took right the way through this is admirable & worth of financial reward (hence purchase of a Membership)

My days with WWTFC are over - I won't step foot inside Woodville Oval again.
I will go & watch the odd game regardless of the home team (except WWT) - it will involve the 'Vultures', I will pay for entry so the SANFL gets the entry fee, but I will fiercely barrack AGAINST the 'Vultures'.
I hate everything they have become & stand for.

I will continue to attend the SANFL Grand Final - as I have for 31 previous times.

I will buy an SAJC Membership & more often than not go to Morphettville (particularly between August & December).

So your walk around Eagles games with a stupid sign .stand at the gates getting a petition signed .
And things don't go your way and you are no longer an Eagles fan !! And you teach at a private school typical attitude !!!
Goodbye you went to how many games in a year !!!
And before you ask me I have missed one Eagles game back in 2006 . And one trial game this year . And honestly you will not be missed .Don't let the door hit you on the way .

Why walk away from a club you love? It's your club— go and take it back. None of the 8 voting SANFL clubs is a dictatorship. They're all member-based incorporated associations in one form or another. Go get your Constitutions. Call a special meeting, or require that agenda items be added at the AGM. Pass resolutions requiring that the club change its policy, take steps to have Crows reserves removed at the first opportunity, not provide backup players or other logistical support in the meantime, and communicate the club's policy to the SANFL. Pass further resolutions that any President or Board member who refuses to act in accordance with those policies, is to resign.

The resolution letting the Crows in, says the SANFL can review the arrangement on a year-to-year basis, so throwing out the Crows by 2015 is absolutely on the agenda.

The SANFL is ultimately a community-based sporting organisation. And members & fans form the bulk of that community. This ain't like persuading the Communist Party of the Soviet Union to change policies. All club members who disagree with how their club has voted should get out there and exercise their rights, to ensure that from here on, their club acts in accordance with its members' wishes.

Don't be so quick to paint Central and South as heroic.
Once Norwood rolled over it was easy for them to vote NO and save face.
They'll be heroic IF they knock back any of the promised finances.

They had made their decision to vote no without knowing what way Norwood were going to vote. Both clubs were always adamant that they were against the proposal. You can't give Norwood the credit for South and Central voting the way they did, much as you think the football world revolves around The Parade.
Will be a member of South next year.

South did it for the right reasons. Central just couldn't make up their mind. Their decision could be made without consequence. Probably scared of UK Fan.

Centrals couldn't make such an important decision with the lack of information and the poor quality of the information at hand. I believe this is what sensible managers, businesses, directors do request some facts and tangible benefits when a proposition is put forward.

I'll ask again. What was the exact information that Central wanted? There are many unknowns that can't actually be answered without hindsight.

As far as I'm concerned, it's either a NO because of integrity, a NO because you think the SANFL will be better off without the AFL teams, or a YES because you think the SANFL will be better off with the AFL teams than they would with AFL teams in the SAAFL or another competition.

Central's meek NO is as bad as the meek YES voters.
It has not just been the last month or so that the Crows have wanted a Reserves team. Central should be better prepared than voting NO on the basis of lack of information. Then they could have influenced others.

Airie, much as I love you, that is a ridiculous comment. You don't go ahead and support a proposal unless you know the proposal is beneficial. The right thing to do is support the status quo until you have evidence that a change is required.

While I applaud the stance taken by South and Central, is it too simplistic to suggest that because they are by all accounts the most $ucce$$ful pokies clubs, they didn't quite have the same pressures as the clubs on death's door?

Central are far from being in a healthy financial state. Please look at our 2012 annual report - we are worse off financially than most clubs. Don't spread rubbish about it being due to being a rich club.
