I'm sure I know who that would've been.
He has short hair but is no skinhead ;)
Sounds exactly like his words.

Think he may have had a short beard as well.

Anyone able to compile a list of premierships won at Footy Park?
Off the top of my head:
South: 0
Woodville: 0
Torrens: 0
West: 1
Glenelg: 2
North: 3 (I think)
Sturt: 3
Eagles: 3 (I think)
Central: 9
Norwood: ?
Port: ?

The magpies definitely won a few premierships at footy park. Not sure where abouts in the double digits though. 14?

Ports late 80's / early 90's dominance was too early for me- although watching footage from the aforementioned gfs (84 in particular) gives the impression i missed some quality games!

My SANFL memories:

1st GF I ever saw in 93- eagles won- thats all I can tell you

95-96 gf's v centrals and the ensuing parties back at alberton with the centrals coffin. 96 with Hodges kicking 7 and the football worlds first look at Tredrea.

98 gf v sturt- the last time i saw the maggies win a flag.

My AFL memories:

1st game v Essendon and 1st win v Geelong- huge buzz after the latter.

1st Showdown win- massive underdogs, silenced the crows fans. Bliss.

2004 Preliminary Final- best game I think I have seen, the noise was incredible and the emotion after the final siren was more relief than ecstasy.

In many ways I will miss Footy Park- similar to what many melbourne based fans still miss about waverley park. 2 instances where footballing bodies try and take on cricketing bodies by building independent footy stadiums, which 40 and 30 years on respectively both ended up the same way. I am very much looking forward to Adelaide Oval- but it will be a sad day when its all brought to the ground.

Right.
I'm getting my North/Glenelg rivalry mixed up.
North 2 in the seventies. Glenelg 1.
Glenelg 2 in the eighties. North 1.
North also won 1 in the 90's.
Thanks.

Well, 28 between 3 clubs.

Was the GF held there every one of the 40 years?

I think so, but there seems to be a premiership missing from our list.
Did Eagles win 4?

Maybe Footy Park is all that was holding South back. Either that or Centrals ;)

Jeez, how could I overlook that. That's incredible that these 2 teams could dominate footy park so much.

Sitting north end in the 98 grand final and apparently barracking to loudly for sturt. Next thing I know, I've had a bottle of coke/beer (although I thought it was banned) poured over my head. Not a bad effort for a 12 year old.

South are Adelaide oval specialists ;) actually I remember a game at Adelaide Oval in 1999 and Centrals were whipping us and me and my mates just kept asking the Central supporters near us how many premierships they had won. Seemed funny at the time but if I'd knew what the next decade would hold prob would have kept my mouth shut lol.
