MJ, I take offence at being called stupid. I am entitled to have an opinion and previously players have not been suspended when they should have been. Were you one of the Eagles fans who cheered when Symes was poleaxed?

No I wasn't I was one of the fans who saying why did u do that idiot !!

We had 3 tall forwards now we have 1
1 injured by centrals
1 reported and may get life in retaliation !!!
So why hit a player like that

And I will say again the centrals player who injured Ainger should also get reported the game was being filmed !!
Centrals seconds player was reported for a more accidental hit on the head !!

And I should ad the team is more important than the individual player so Grocke has let down the entire Eagles club IMHO

And if you can have an opinion so can I if Grocke gets off I'll be surprised

Centrals had 1 player whose career ended due to an idiot named Grocke.

Do you want Symes reported also for acting?

If it was retaliation, why the hell did he hit Symes? That is the most pathetic excuse I've ever heard. Stop trying to minimise what Grocke did. The Collier/Ainger hit was completely different and you know it. Even your own supporters said it was fair and in the contest. There was absolutely no malice in it. The head clash was incidental. Sure he may get cited and get games but it was not and cannot be compared to what Grocke did.

I was extremely surprised by some of the Eagles supporters around us that laughed and clapped and told Grocke to coat hanger another one during the game. Absolutely piss weak excuses for humans. I was completely disgusted by your supporters on Saturday.

Sorry but that is an absolutely stupid comment to say that Collier should be reported for the fair collision with Ainger. Simply, if Collier gets reported, so does Ainger. It was a totally fair, hard contest.
As you say, yes, the Central player in the Reserves should never have been reported as it was also completely accidental.

Cheers

I heard from a reliable source that the SANFL have decided not to put the Grocke report vision up on SANFL TV as it is "too vicious" to be publicised. That doesn't sound like he is much chance of getting off.

Not necessarily ... Central could name him to start on the bench in a dead rubber game late in the season. Let him on for a 5 minute stint in the pocket once the result is beyond doubt, and butter up the ump to give him a dodgy free kick so he can celebrate his 100th and final game with a goal. 8)

Still, and will always be one of my favourite footy memories. The 1990 version of this, that is.

I have seen the vision of it, and in slow motion, and can assure you it doesn't look good, at all...

Just relax, Groucho. Still time for justice to prevail. There is a process and it takes a few days. Time will tell...

Are you and the other radio guys still doing those video reviews of the round for the SANFL Big Phil? Hopefully you are - they were always good to watch, especially if you couldn't make it to the games.

No mate, the radio guys are not doing 'The Recovery Session' in season 2014. Told by the SANFL our services will not be required...

I do believe the Channel 7 guys will be putting together something along the same lines, though, and calling the 'The Recovery Session', also...

The Recovery Session hasn't been binned, at all, Bounce of the Ball...

As I mentioned in the posts above, Channel 7 are doing there own version of it so the SANFL advised us our version wont be needed...

No point in doubling up on it...

Wowser.

So...kids issues changed my plan for getting there on Saturday. A bit disappointing.

Listening on the radio, it felt like we only played one quarter.

Any thoughts on where we're at?

Best wishes to Brad Symes - a top bloke.
You're my only friend, and you don't even like me.

Just saw the hits on the Recovery Session. The Ainger incident appeared to stem from two bloke with eyes on the ball that just made hard contact with one another, but Grocke has to be in big strife for his hit on Symes, Someone mentioned there was a bit of Lockett/Caven about it, and that' a fair call, wasnt good at all.

Just watched the incidents on the Recovery Session. Ainger going down and then Symes from about the 15 min mark.
Ainger hit looked fair and just one of those things. Ironically Brad Symes was the first player to go to him and help Ainger onto his back.
The Grocke hit was sickening to watch, not once did Adam have his eyes on the ball. Always been a big fan of Adam's but gee whiz that was shocking, he should get a very very very long time on the side line for that. It looked premeditated with intent and the contact was awful. Hard trying to let Mum's allow their kids to play the game if they saw that footage.

Just looking at the replay on the Recovery Session - Brad Symes was thoughtful of Ainger just moments earlier - turning him on to his back. No excuses for Grocke, that was a disgrace. I was hopeful Grocke may have had some eyes on the ball, but not to be. Fingers crossed Symes makes a quick and full recovery, same with Ainger.

Yeah that's reall bad!!!

And like usual it always seems to be the nice guys that are on the receiving end from thugs.

Personally I think we live in and day and age where some of the incidents on a football field go beyond a tribunal and really start to become assaults. I'm not talking about the standard football incident but the king hits and incidents miles of the ball
