Nothing revolutionary, less night games (we don't even play one till a Thursday in August, wtf?)
Opening round only involving 4 teams out of 10 starts the season with a whimper rather than a bang when the weather is good.
2 Anzac Day games with the potential to get 1/4 of the crowd the 2 games got last season.
1.10pm start for some games not even involving tv, 12.10 for another!
Most teams don't start for another 5 months despite not playing for the last 3!
No spunk, no ingenuity, no bang, no nothing.
Probably the least inspiring draw I've ever seen in my life.
Don't get me wrong though, I think the competition itself will be great, there's a potential for a very even comp with no easy games.

Pretty happy with the draw, only 6 Saturday games. We have 5 Sunday games and 6 Friday/Thursday night games.
Only gripe for me is our ANZAC Day fixture which is no longer played on ANZAC day. There are 2 other games on the actual day but the GF rematch loses some significance being played the night before just to appease Port as usual. Also the fact we play on Sunday the round before so cop a 5 day break whilst Port get a 6 day break. And why are we listed as the away side for the game despite being Premiers?

Both clubs wanted it in Anzac Day at the Parade but the Commission wouldn't have it. Port has actually done our club a favour by taking it as their home game as the Sanfl wouldn't guarantee a $ return (which they did for our game against North this year) and we retain 10 games at the Parade.

Looks like Night footy is dead at Elizabeth and they have finally acknowledged the obvious which I have said many times . The lighting is poor at all grounds except Norwood.

Night games this year
Norwood Oval : 4
Noarlunga : 3
Glenelg : 3
Richmond : 2
AO : 1
Seems like a waste of money spent at Elizabeth.
Glenelg has pretty good lighting but find Richmond's shocking.
South has ok lighting but night games are terrible down there

No coincidence that Elizabeth went the 'cheap' option when installing their lights. The minimum of 250 lux for state league football under the Australian standard.

Richmond, Glenelg and Noarlunga when for an extra 50 lux per light pole. Richmond only just get by due to the size of the area, Glenelg get best use due their smaller oval and Noarlunga decided to leave 2 old light poles in operation increasing their coverage.

All on par for viewing IMO except Norwood and that is they improved them recently. I think it would work so much better if spectators could actually see the ball on the opposite side of the oval , which means a cost . But if you want to do it ....................do it right.

Disappointed that Norwood gave up/forced to give up the home ANZAC game to the Magpies so Port could have both teams play at AO on ANZAC weekend. Seems the SANFL were always going to have the game at AO, so in order to get a game at Coopers Stadium v Port (Rd 13, Sat 11th July) the club agreed to let Port have the home ANZAC game.

Don't panic, the NAFC board's mates at SACA will pay for the cricket pitch square to be covered during wet weather.....provided there isn't a game on at the time.
