Jars and James Moore will have some big concerns coming up trying to keep a competitive list with the likely departures through the draft and retirements of some league players. From Sunday it is likely that North could lose in the draft: Gill, Edwards, Millar, Campbell, Ryswyk and McIntyre plus from the ressies Pfieffer, Cheetham.

The usual exodus of fringe players leaving then throw in the expected retirees or those that could/should/might retire in: Hargraves, Koops, Brett White, Darryl Wintle (and maybe Banger Bamford) some due to ongoing injuries at their ages like Brett White alhtough he is not that old? Will we ses Cox get fit and ready off season or will he pull the pin due to his knee? Will Kurzel comeback after 2 knee ops, what will Jimbo McEntee do? Many questions to be answered Jars???

Losing Gill will be a massive loss to try and replace - haven't seen too many of his type running around in the the VFL or WAFL :(

Can we expect to see S. Motlop, Trent Sporn, Sam Hunt, David Teague, Barry Brooks and Ian Callinan in red and white next year or some other fancied names now the silly season is on and the SANFL clubs, those with money, duel with cheque books?

Food for thought to kick off the off season???

apart from arnott; the following gowansx2, bello, hopwood, hay, o'sullivan, schollar, cowan, danny stevens were not high profile recruits when they came to us. These guys just happen to gel and were percieved to be high profile recruits because of the immediate success they achieved.

unlike port, north and south who have a very high turnover of players, when we recruit we recruit players who are looking to stay with the club for a number of seasons. the eagles are in a very similar vote in that not many of their recruits come for only a year or 2 and that is why us 2 teams have achieved the prolonged success.

i think its too early to suggest norths recruits dont stay. pre jarman oconnor, davis, knowles, setchell, reynolds, cain the red head what ever his surname was left but i reckon the signs are good. losing roe and motlop is bloody unlucky same with sam hunt. I reckon we need the silly season gods smiling on us we are due.

"Baby on board". Why dont you put a sign on ur car saying "adult on board" or "car stereo in use"?

That is what North have been trying to achieve under Jars. There have been a couple of aging recruits to add a bit of experience where needed, but all in all most have been thought to have been past their chance in AFL, increasing the possibility of long carreeers at Prospect. Time will tell if the recruiters were right in their decisions.

Of course Hargraves and Younie having just completed 7 and 6 seasons respectively don't count I suppose?

isnt that what all clubs do, try and recruit players for a number of years rather then fly by nighters

Younie is from Albury-Wodonga and we got him after he was delisted off the West Coast Eagles rookie list.
