I could get changed after a game, drive to the ground & park, & only miss the first 5 mins- now I'll miss the whole 1st 1/4...

Between stuffing up players who play on Sundays and stuffing up players who play early on Saturday the SANFL are doing a really good job of eliminating all loyal SANFL fans who are footy players from going to games.

The vast majority of players would play on a Saturday and hardly anyone would finish an early game to go to an SANFL game anyway. By putting games on Fri nights, Sat nights and Sundays they are giving the chance for many more players to see SANFL footy.

Yeah but the ultra loyal fans who purposely play early on a Saturday or on a Sunday to see their team play every week are the one's being screwed for the casual bandwagonners.
I could have played a higher grade on Saturday afternoon but purposely only played Sundays so I wouldn't miss a North match when I played footy.
If it was like it is now I doubt I would have ever played footy. Im just lucky games were played predominately on a Saturday afternoon when I played.

I can see your point. Same goes with people that organise working shifts etc as well. I guess the SANFL are tredding a fine line between being a modern money making entertainment product as opposed to a traditional Saturday afternoon event. Now that I've finished playing footy myself, I hope the Eagles play as many games on a Saturday afternoon as possible because that is definitely my favourite time to watch footy. Reading the players answers in the Footy Budget to when they prefer to play footy, they all say either Sat arvo or Fri night.
