Ignore the Legs v Cows tonight, the better game is at Alberton at 6:15. Port Adelaide v Port Adelaide, does it get any better? Me thinks no.

Definately wasn't going to see the Cows (was gong for other reasons) but yes I've seen the light but it'll be a quiet one in air conditioned comfort whilst drinking a few Paleys, just enjoying my first now and its sweet as!

Crap for 10 years, because you play the Crows in a pre-season trial? You would have to be,to quote Bruce McAvaney....

Its an interesting one, February trials don't tie in well with SANFL club's programs, North's early trial last year was offset by the fact that great comradrie was struck up in our Darwin trip but that wouldn't be an issue with Norwood just rocking up to their own oval and I would assume they wouldn't go as full on as North did in the leadup to the match as its not as though the quality of the SANFL comp is at sake.
It'll be interesting to see if down the track when/if Norwood have better finances if they go ahead with it.
Of course there is the other aspect of promotion and being seen by the large sporting community which is hard to judge but would be a definate benefit.
By all reports Norwood usually sign up quite a few members at this event every year too.
I hope they put up a good show like last year.

Well said Wedgie, and indeed the interesting part, as you said, will be to see whether the club continues with it once the piggybank looks to be in better shape ... I actually think they might but it certainly won't be as necessary as it is today!

From the players I spoke to last year, they were all champing at the bit to challenge themselves against players of the highest calibre so I think it sits pretty well with them.

Question for Wedgie/BP/PR/any North fan ... Do you think North's match early in the year in Darwin had any negative effect on injuries or how they ran the season out?

Spoke to a Norwood player today who is playing tonight and they have been absolutely flogged on the track this year...he's just glad because of the trial they dont have to do 10 x 400m at Kensington tonight!!!

Good question and one which obviously couldn't be answered accurately as its all guess work but I'd say that the positives outweighed the negatives. I actually put our injuries down to a different reason (training) which will hopefully be rectified this year. Noone really got injured in Darwin but being their to witness the unbeliebale comradrie struck up not just between players but also supporters I'd say it was a definate plus and one of the reason North are looking at the South Africa trip.

First game is over, only 4 X 10 minutes quarters. Brenton Phillips didn't even bother getting onto the oval it was that easy.

SANFL Under 18s 7.3
Norwood Reserves 1.0

Oh well, that's an improvement on Norwood Reserve's last game!

Cheers mate, judging from the comments I'd read and heard from various North fans I'd thought it was a positive exercise, just wondered if there had been any downside to it.

Whoops, sorry, the dumb arses on 5AA didn't realise there's a break half way through each quarter because of the heat. Its the half time score.

Norwood 2-3-15
