The umps seemed to be very much behind Glenelg in the first half. Seemed to be making up for this in the third quarter, they got very much behind Norwood. And in the final term they were just plain rotten.
Their application of the push-in-the-back rule in particular was draconian. It seemed that a player only had to glance at his opponent's back to give away a free. Soft, soft, soft. And yet the umps managed to miss some real doozies where a dinkum shove sent a player sprawling.
Truly a woeful performance. Those cretins need to be sat in front of an umpire review panel with a DVD of the game, and then given a few weeks in the amateurs.
