Southee, B&W, WCP, Soj et al just remember this time last week Port were being written off, this week you have an opportunity...you could be back in the hunt this time next week.

Not trying to give you false hope or patronise you all, but this season has been littered with un-expected results and there is still a lot of footy to played yet....

Sides anywhere between 2-8 this year have shown that best is good enough but their worst is terrible, so anything is possible this year yet.
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

Exactly right Tassie .. A Panthers win this weekend, and this thread get's renamed with the words "Robert Pyman" replaced by "Trevor Hill" ... Who'd be a coach ay?

That's what makes following our teams (those 2-8 ATM) so "interesting" CP and others, we never know which version of our team is going to rock up to each match. If our switched on, fired up, passion for the guernsey, hard-working team rocks up we'll beat all comers, if the half ar5ed, sit-back-and-watch-your-teammates-do-the-work, who-gives-a-toss-abut-the guernsey appears well defeat is a certainty. Our best is sensational our worst is woeful.

Ah well back on thread carry on bagging Pyman....

If you knew your team was going to win by 100 points every week I reckon it would be almost as boring as losing by 100 points every week. The fact that anything could happen this season is fantastic.

As I am aware Pyman is under contract for next year and South would likely have to pay that out if he was sacked.

If Pyman is there for 2008 he needs to do a Malcolm Blight and go through the club and clean out those that have issues with the club which I think is the core of the problem at present....

Sources at Sturt maintain Pyman was never spoken to or offered any deal to coach sturt.simply a bargaining tool to get South to extend his existing contract by another year.I would suggest rather than sack him and pay him out demote him to under 19's coach and keep out of harms way.A candidate for coach needs an uderstanding of SANFL and do more than resort to lazy recruiting of delisted AFL hacks especially when they are over 23/24.Lets see a bit of pain from the board down at South history says failure lets change the future.Whoever coaches next year at least get them fit !

As a South supporter - what I've seen the last two weeks is a team that are playing for themselves instead of the team. Obviously the players have no respect for Pyman or the club at the moment which means Pyman has to go now. Pyman was a clever man last year he made South give him a two year extension to his contract after not getting the Sturt job. I know if I was a South player and my coach was after another coaching job I wouldn't respect him.
Hard question who would make a good coach for South next but all I know is that he would need to be a person the players at South respect. :-k :-k

Didn't seem to have worked at Westies - maybe South needs a coach in the mould of a Rick MacGowan/ Andrew Jarman who can communicate well with their players and the players will play for them and the club. Also back the local kids and don't just send money on guys who haven't got their heart in it. :( :(

He played his last year at Glenelg and probably would be a better assistant down there, good suggestion though!

Heard from someone at South Adelaide, what happened after the Sturt game and what was reported in the media was not the truth.
And he will be gone next year .
