correct weight Tassie, Davey was great for them last year and no suprise the impact he had with Essendon this year......there have been plenty of players with less talent than Cupido that have gone onto be 200 game players in the AFL

You can say its the forwards that have let us down this year but really today the midfiled was non-existant and the backlines were not much better.
South have already done the whole recruiting from the local league but when Pyman came in he "wizzed" most of them off.

Look, we are not recruiting the right type of player to play for South Adelaide. So who do you blame? I beleive you have to blame the recruiters who pick them (and that is the coach) and what they offer them in their contract. (maybe a performanced based might be an idea?)

I have to say I had more optimism with South in the dark days of 1988/89 but this is definately the "lowest" i have felt as a member/supporter in my time. :(

All you Pyman supporters out there - what do you think now?

What a disgrace!!! A side of basic errors, uncommitted, disinterested, no pride in the jumper, going through the motions.
That was by far worse than last week against Sturt. You can forget making the 5 now. That was an embarrassment to have that televised for the 2nd week in a row with a pitiful performance like that!!! The club should hold its head in shame!!

I could not pick a player that stood out today. NOT ONE!
You actually could see players out there today that did not try at all.

Full credit to Norwood. You played some great footy. I have always thought Norwood are a better side than they are showing. Really liked the way McGuiness plays footy down in the back lines.

So what now for South? We were pathetic up forward (5 goals in a game - a joke!), Killed in the mid field, Backlines did not hold up. Its about time the members, sponsers and supporters were given answers. Its just not good enough to have a performances like that today (and last week).

Watching today - it was a farce. Players out there should not be taking the $$$$'s today.
Its time to start again. Clean it out. get a new team plan going and structure.

It breaks me apart writing this. I am a passionate, paid up supporter and to see what we have produced this year has been not acceptable. Wake up!!!

So much for Pymans 5 year plan when he was appointed as coach!!!!

Next week is on the TV too. Oh God help us!!!! :(

South supporters out there, your thoughts?

In Pyman's defence - south has lost some quality cattle in the off season. I didn't see you jumping on the anti-pyman bandwagon last year southee when the same man took you to to your first finals campaign in years. My advice get to you southee get off his damn back.

Lost 2 players eaglehaslanded!!! Then did a major recruiting drive.
Do you go out each week and see how they are playing? game structure? team plans?
If you did you would know.

Pyman is great and should be given one more week to prove himself.

And wish someone had a camera when Pyman, clipboard in hand, was locked out of the rooms after the match by the South Players. I'm sure he would have been well pleased.

Hopefully it was just them deciding to sort it out for themselves and take some ownership of the Titanic, in a positive way?

And rumours are that a high profile and tall player @ South may be interested in moving to a THIRD SANFL club?

And a short but great player may want to go home at the end of the season?
He's still my hero even if he is a little bit crap.

I presume the short player is Kenna. Would be a shame to lose him from the competition as he's an ornament to the game. Would love to have him at Port.

But I'm not sure who you're talking about for the tall player?

High-profile? At South???

Well, that's who I thought of too, but then I read "high-profile".

I think that you become ineligible for that descriptor as soon as you don the navy blue.

How about North and South merge so we can get all the underachievers together?
Base them at Adelaide Oval and call them the Panters.

Only managed to catch the game on the box this weekend, and was very surprised with what I saw ... Norwood were ok, certainly the endeavour was there and they applied plenty of early pressure in the middle and particularly in the forward line.

As expected coming off the loss to Sturt some South players looked intent on showing a bit of fight and vigour early on, unfortunately for the Panthers however, I don't think they applied it the right way, and all of this contributed to an early jump out of the blocks for the Legs .. Exactly what a team low on confidence and moral doesn't need.

Norwood still make plenty of errors, particularly by foot as they regularly deliver to the toes of leading forwards .. Thankfulyl they had enough players willing to hunt in the forward line, but will pay for this against the better teams as we usually do.

South were amazing, but unfortunately for their fans, not for the right reasons .. They really looked dispirited and as though it all became too hard for them ... They have an enviable list in terms of individual talent, but unfortunately they have appeared in recent times to be a "burst" team, putting it together (sometimes lethally) for only short periods of time .. Saturday they couldn't manage that and were restricted to chasing guernseys (often half-heartedly).

As has been alluded to on here, something is clearly not right at Noarlunga and I'm sure it's something that will need to be addressed in the off-season.

How much more do you reckon the Panthers pay to put their team on the park than Norwod each season? $100, 000?

Parry was on the verge of leaving a couple of seasons ago, but is more or less a mercenary. Just goes where the money is apparently. No surprise at all to hear he is thinking of pulling up stumps, and really that would leave a gap to fill. Parry is a pretty good ruckman, and the options to replace him appear thin. If Kenna goes as well then that's 2 of their best handful of players gone. Sampson surely is doubtful for next season, Handby's form has been awful from what I gather, Warren's done nothing this year, Bennett has less and less impact each season and the recruits have been dissapointing to say the least.

Let's not mention the out of form South FF who has approached another SANFL club with a view to move at seasons end only to be told "No thanks". Apparently he will now try one or two other clubs before seasons end. My bet he will be at the Bay next year?

Local blokes wont stay at the club either for $75 a week playing reserves footy.

Im sure other clubs have the same problem, but increasing the minimum match payments would surely be better for the competition as a whole, possibly attracting these standout country and local league players to continue at a higher level.

What are others opinions on this?

There would be a number of blokes running around in sfl and gsfl that would play with a fair bit of heart, and having a reasoanble match payment for reserves would help in attracting these local zone players to the club.
