micky Juice I like that :D
On that day we had only one forward and he kicked 10 goals against your defence .How far did you get in front before we reined you in ?

But as I said to Wedgies its all moot cause the dogs were the best team again.

Not as far as you guys were up earlier in the game before we reined you in.
We were 2 goals up at 3/4 time, you were 4 goals 3 up in the 2nd qtr.

This topic should be changed to "Eagles supporters look likely to beat off in 2006"

The flag could go to a number of sides, Port, Centrals, North, Eagles, the most likely still being Centrals.

Good work lads. My eagles 2006 post has been turned into a eags v rooters taunt fest. Even I have come to the conclusion that wer'e not the only 2 teams in the comp with a chance. Quite frankly I think the hoodoo that the Dogs hold over us is the thing that is keeping us from ultimate glory. North promise lots but don't deliver all that often whereas the Dogs are tried and proven over the last 6 seasons and have 5 flags to show for it. It's about time we end the hoodoo and take what's rightfuly ours premiership glory"

Even though this brings back horrible nightmares, you have to respect the North footy club for being on the wrong end of two shellackings in the mid 80s and then getting their act together to revenge those losses in 87. against the same team.

One would have thought that if the Eagles players/club had any sort of natural competive instincts the losses of 2000-01 & 2004 would have provided enough motivation to win the flag last year.

For EHL and MJ I hope the lessens of 2005 along with the previous years have finally sucken through. It is amazing what can be achieved in sport when the collective will/desire is strong. nothing to do with "our turn" or "luck"
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

In my humble and inadequate opinion the Eagles have missed the boat.
On paper they have had the best side talent wise running around for a while, but for them they haven't quite managed to overcome Central's when it really counts.
Now i'm not so sure, but if they are mentally tough enough you never know, but you can't keep giving up chances without a let down at some stage.

Funny this but I agree with what you have said Tassie Medalist perhaps the new and MORE signings in Numbers than the previous years may help .Plus the new signings at Coaching level may lead to greater things because last year at times our seconds were down right BAD .
The number one thing is desire and arrogance and then belief in themselves PERHAPS when MY BELOVED EAGLES have those 3 things everything else will fall into place.
Mind you a forward line that can fire all year and in a G/F will be bloody helpful, that and some new singings that play in the middle may lead to a new mid field dominance perhaps.

But as I keep saying its too early for any of this just yet .
