Change of coach makes a difference . Back where they belong.

Previous coach too pig headed? of current coach too lenient?

While everyone is focusing on Boyd to Centrals
Aside from dogs fans that’s understandable.
What hasn’t been mentioned in SA Footy unless I’ve missed it .
It’s on other footy forums like the Eagles nest and on Facebook pages like fans of the SANFL
Or if you like Boyd has left on his leaving rumours have surfaced . That the Eagles are in talks with a Norwood midfielder who isn’t needed by Norwood with their star recruits. I have no idea who it is but seeing Boyd is gone salary cap clearance and possibly transfer fee coming in . Maybe the eagles can afford another recruit .
One door closes another one opens
Rumour says Norwood player was in Flag winning Norwood side is that 2014 or 2019 seconds

Rules out Cody Szust then....

Seeing that a couple of players in Norwood's midfield have only been offered a quarter of what Grigg and Talia are each being paid, it is understandable that one or two of their current midfield are considering leaving the club.

He did win their Best and Fairest Award last year; I believe he will still be a very serviceable player with us.
Cheers

The West Adelaide Football Club is pleased to announce the appointment of Wayne Siekman to the role of Football Operations Manager.

Wayne has an extensive career in sport, both in coaching roles and administration. Whilst working as the Racing Manager at Melbourne Racing Club, Wayne coached in the TAC Cup competition for ten years before leading Victoria’s Metro Youth Girls to two national championships in 2015 and 2016. In 2017 Wayne was appointed as the inaugural Head Coach of the Collingwood AFLW team, a position he held for three seasons. In mid-2019 Wayne moved into a role at Carlton FC as List Manager for the AFLW and VFLW squads.

Wayne was selected from a large and strong candidate pool and is looking forward to moving to Adelaide with his young family to join the team at WAFC.

Wayne will commence at WAFC late January.

Welcome aboard Wayne!

Westies off field appointments have been really good.
However, to climb the ladder we need players!!!!
We have not recruited one player of A grade standard.
The recruits we have got are fringe players from other sides.
Not good enough!

Have Westies got their full salary cap back for 2020?

I believe West now have a full cap, which makes it difficult to understand why we haven’t recruited a couple a A Graders.

You could count on one hand the number of A graders in Westies squad.

We won 2 games in 2019 and have lost Beech, Schmidt, Wasley-Black,Noble,Snelling and Middleton from the 2019 squad.

I think the new footy manger is a great move and nice to see some one outside the club come in.

Yep, bunch of kids & few seasoned league bodies.
Reckon she’ll be a long year again at Milner Rd.

Reminds me of CDFC when Alan Stewart took on the coaching. No money, new approach, changed the club ethos, developed from the juniors, set us up for a decade of senior, reserve, u19 and u17 premierships. Took us to our first grand final.

Westies future may not be so dire.

The Dogs have signed former Box Hill Hawks top up player Jai Nanscawen.

Looks to be a young, quick goal kicking midfielder who played TAC Cup with the Dandenong Stingrays.

Sounds ok. Little bit worrying he has already had injury concerns as a 20 year old. I'm not sure we have the greatest record in recent times of keeping players on the park.

Lets hope this is a player the Andrews has identified from his time in Victoria.
