check with the other clubs, none except norwood were using balls fully and while the others were still working on fitness and thats a fact. Check with people close to andrew newto and a lot of work and PRIDE went into winning theat darwin game

I'd argue that we're not 7 weeks ahead of other teams but I do agree especially playing West last week that we'd be well advanced, we toned things back quite a bit after Darwin.

It is a good point though that it will be interesting to see how North are travelling late in the season and if Jars can keep them up for a long period of time.

On the game under lights tonight at Elizabeth I've been told that one of the light towers at the Southern end went out in the last qtr making it a dark affair.
If they're falling apart already should league games be trusted there?

Past Records

Postby dash61 » Sat Mar 25, 2006 11:20 pm

Past records of centrals supporter history says NO they should play games out theirat night and how about those red wine lovers from oxford street unley. They should not have to go out to the ponderosa for round 1 under lights this year its a joke, adelaide and norwood ovals will do me for night games. Mind you i do think that nite games favor the redlegs a little and it should be a level playing field (Good old Sat arvo games and the odd friday game at nwd but other clubs get same experience under lights at adelaide during the year to even things out. Remember the advantage Nth Melb had with all their friday night games early in the 90s.

Yeah, one of the light towers at the southern end conked out late in the last quarter. Despite looking a lot like Norwood Oval in that corner the other three towers allowed play to continue.

Granty didn't know why the switched tripped. It came back on soon after the game.

Very entertaining game under lights at Elizabeth. A half strength North side unlucky to lose to a 3/4 strength Dogs outfit with a kick after the siren from Scoullar ( who admittedly missed an open goal from 20 Metres out a couple of minutes previously.)
Much to like about the way North attacked the Footy with Matt Campbell impressing with his pace and a couple of solid big men in Alleway & Weatherley boosting the big man stocks.Did see one North tall badly limping after the game, on crutches with an ankle strapped- not sure who it was but would be surprised if not out for at least a couple.
Thought Wilson was outstanding for the Dogs, with Switala another to impress.
Bigger crowd (about 2000) than most League games at Noarlunga & Richmond, and a bit of theatre with the South Western tower failing with about 5 mins to go in the last quarter.
The lights quite adequate from my perspective, although it is a large playing surface to cover. It would certainly be embarassing if they were to fail next week.
Players win touches, Teams win matches, Clubs win Premierships.

From what I heard that was Clinton Alleway, hurt his ankle.
Luckily with Gill, Weatherley and Hargs playing ressies we can cover him.

I'm extremely glad Roy Laird was at Richmond today.

He can tell his team, Sturt are broke, Sturt just lost to last years Wooden- Spooners by nearly 10 goals.

Enter the game as an overwhelming favourite and suffer the same result as they did down at the Bay last year.

2 Norths : Been up a long time and running and is not a young list
3 Eagles : Small forward line, strong midfield and little really known
4 Westies : Good list of up to 30, AFL players will get runs ie porplycia, jericho, pettigrew, ezard, bonnaddio, welsh and walsh
5 Port : Good list but goes to 20 only, with injuries look very fragile
6 Souths : Very unknown and a young list and now look like they may be going to offer those poor south supporters something at norlunga at last
7 Sturt : Financially struggling and hard to get good quality recruits but a proud club
8 Norwood : same boat as POOR sturt
9 Gay Bays : More faction fighting than a political party but very good kids

Rumour Of The Day: Is M Campbell from the Roosters going to get his marching orders next week

I will agree with the small forward Line and strong midfield ,I personally think we have improved our ruck stocks and depths from what I saw in yesterdays trial.Even though our two's lost there was a vast improvement in them as well, increased depth all round is begining to happen at oval ave .

Thanks Goraw didnt want to read that . :D
Will be interesting to see who the Eagles pick in round 1 we had some good players in the two's and league yesterday . And MST Cooper played part of the two's and the last 2 quaters in the league ( I think or just the last) how could Sturt let a player like him leave he showed some good signs IMHO.

Cheers

I want to ask a direct question, "what is the problem with Ladhams"

two opportunities on AFL list, he has plenty of natural ability, could not crack it at the Bombers, at the Crows he had his opportunities but could not cement a spot, now I read he was dropped for discipline reasons, I also believe that this is not the first time the club has raised concerns in this area

my understanding is that he lacks the ticker to do the hard yards and struggled to add a defensive side to his game, attitude at times was also a concern and was not the most popular amongst the player group, my understanding is that Skipworth was too once view in this manner but then knuckled down and started to see some results of that last year.

It's just unfortunate it seems to be another story of a gifted footballer fails to reach his potential due to a lack of work ethic

I was told by someone who lived with a couple of his teammates, that his heart was at North Adelaide moreso than the Crows ... I've never met the bloke so wouldn't know, but maybe fsome of the North fans can confirm or deny?
