Sandery did actually get 3 weeks (over 300 points) but with an early guilty plea, the deduction had it reduced to the 2 weeks.

South supporters last season whinged about Stribling when at North tagging Liddle and his tactics - bleating like babies after each North v. South clash but now Stribling loved by all at South and said nothing all season long re Cockshell and some of his blatant thuggery which in the main went un-reported HOWEVER Glenelg supporters getting all worked up about Sandery's light suspension is hypocritical after the Kirk vs. Wundke incident a few weeks back. Funny how they defended that blatant act of thuggery yet complain and squeal about Sandery???

I agree. He should've got at least 3 weeks. And it was thuggery.
And it was also brilliant!

Last year, I recall that first Sturt, then the Bays were going to beat us @ this time.

Granted, South are a very improved side - cudos to Ron Fuller, still the best identifier of young football talent in the state & what he does do is show faith in young kids to perform.

Eagles needed last week's shocker IMHO - you are right in your call that it is in their heads.
If they are switched on from the 'get-go', they will win comfortably.
If not, South have the talent to win.

Yes nice post , but the facts are Ron isnt close to being the best identifyer of young talent ! Heres your proof ....... Dawes , Gogal , Earl , Prescott , Barker , Biaggi , Cheep , Hicks , Fairclough , Lee , Wilkinson , Cullen , Schultz , Malinowski , Peel , Davoran and Chapman are just some off the top of our heads without any homework . Too much faith in long shots was Rons downfall at the Eagles and to his credit he hasnt made the same mistakes at South ! The key here is homework !

Fuller never really had a downfall at the Eagles. It's very rare, especially these days, that coaches stay in the job longer than 9 years. With Godden, it's the opposite - he hardly ever bloods new players, and while I'm largely impressed with him as a coach, you couldn't say that he's any better than Fuller.

Don't think either of them will, Rimington in for Petrenko will be the only change I reckon.

Jimmy Toumpas must play to add some pace. On a nice day and big area eagles lack of pace will be exposed especially if we go out with last weeks attitude. Please at least be COMPETITIVE

I bet that South beat the Eagles tomorrow, as you said in another post Eagles weren't much good last week and South have a good head of steam to roll them over

It should be a close match. Eagles are gonna have to really improve if they're to beat South. I'd love to see South do well, but why do they have to be playing the Eagles?!?

Massive brain fade by Sandery.
He was actually one my favourite South players, because he managed to hold his spot in the side all season in the role of the nuggity back pocket/defender.
In my view he is probably the most disposable player in the side, with limited skill but plenty of heart.
He's blown his chance of playing more finals, (just to thump a 17 year old kid who might have gave him a bit of shit).
I can just see another younger more skillfull player taking his spot & making it his own.

He might have to get his elbow out at training if South can make it through to the GF.
...Otherwise, things don't look too flash for him.
Its a pity, because like I said, he has been great all season with limited ability.
Yeah, Naah,..... Bollocks!
