Think about it.
Not bloody Bamford.

Sharp as a bowling ball.
It's all the SANFL's fault.

Mark Bloody Tylor!
Why doesn't that Scott Hodges bloke give the coaching gig a go? He wasn't too bad a player, played in a fairly successful side, would get the respect of the current squad, you would imagine. Might be able to teach them to kick a few goals too! Thoughts, anyone?

Would be a good choice but they simply dont have the cattle, Malthouse couldnt get this mob to play decent footy every week. If Bamford gets flicked good luck to anyone who takes the job on.

How many kids have been drafted since bamford took over. ???

Milera Lycett wanganeen greenwood(maybe) ?????

Im sure Port Have won a fair few junior/ reserves flags in the last 5 years if memory serves.

Do they have the unique/original "Bassett" ideology of their juniors play the same way as the league ??

See i think they have the cattle. I'd argue they would have just as much cattle as bays current squad.

And the bays are 4th ATM.

Greenwood went before Bamford took over, Lycett, Milera, Wanganeen, Haren, Milera would be correct though.

Bamford would have had a lot to do with these lads as juniors as well, wouldn't have he? Was the underage coach and Development boss for a while, I think?

I think he is a good coach and has some good cattle but things just don't seem to be clicking for the Maggies at the moment and in an even competition outside the top 2, you will struggle if not consistent to some extent.

Take a look at their bottom 5 players in their league side every week. There terrible and would struggle to get a game in any other league side.

Its not how good you best 10 players are its you bottom 11 that count!

I agree. Port's good cattle are far outnumbered by the ordinary cattle.

From what i have seen and heard he is a terrific coach. He is a very proud and passionate person, and i know he would be extremely disappointed in where they are sitting at the moment, and no one would be working harder than him to fix it.

Their better players such as Clayton, Summerton, Harder Mikeljohn are as good as any. But then blokes such as Heath, Scanlon, Brain, Raikiwasa, McKenzie, Watt, Young while they have potential they are only average league players at best currently.

Take a look at Centrals and based on the side against the Eagles i would consider the bottom 5 (no particular order), Reichart, O'Brien, Vater, Lawton, and then trying to pick a fifth its a bunch of pretty handy footballers like either Hannath, Templeton, O'Sullivan (due to injury), Schiller, Jenner.

Sadly I think our much heralded ruck combination lets us down, they just dont dominate games as they should.

Dolling is forced to use his poise and under rated foot-skills in the back half instead of the midfield forward of centre where it could be most damaging.

Thurgood is a third/fourth tall that is forced to play as our main target across half forward.

Clayton has been struggling since his return from his recon. He has moments of brilliance still but I think he may have lost a yard or two and is playing forward a little more.

McKenzie and Wilson have not been the valuable recruits we expected. Wilson is getting there, he is working very hard off the ball at the moment and McKenzie seems to be back in favour after a stint in the two's.

Beard has been excellent across half back, really holding that line together.

Summerton has been in and out of games, hasn't really been at his best this year.

So there's 9 of our best and I can only really say Beard has been consistently winning his position all year.

Thats our problem.
If you want to go quickly, go alone.

If you want to go far, go together.

Huge fan of Beard. Only game I've seen him beaten This year was against south at Noarlunga Wundke and Ainger apart from that very solid .

Injuries to Experienced players like Lees and Harder early in the year didn't help. Harder is the maggies barometer IMHO!!

That was a few years ago though.

Why do you think that? Surely he would have far better credentials & more support than the current coach?
