The SANFL has charged West Adelaide Football Club (WAFC) Senior Coach Andrew Collins and Norwood Football Club (NFC) Senior Coach Nathan Bassett, and player Jace Bode, for breaching SANFL Regulation 15.1.1 during last Thursday’s ANZAC Day Grand Final re-match.

Round 5 vs Norwood at Coopers Stadium

Anzac Day is a very special day. Playing a football game on this day is a great privilege. Playing Norwood for the first time since the Grand Final loss of 2012 at their home ground was a great challenge.

We wanted to do well and started nicely but things went seriously wrong just after half time and we never recovered. Norwood beat us at the stoppages and took the critical marks inside 50. At the end of the game we sat around for a little while and spoke about our poor second half. We have worked hard on doing the little things better under pressure but we were again let down by poor skills, poor decision making, poor stoppage work and a poor forward structure.

Our forwards in the last two weeks are struggling to keep their spaces. Instead they are being drawn to the ball with little awareness of opposition and team-mates. Our backs did a reasonable job but Norwood marking forwards did influence the game in the third quarter.

To be the best you must beat the best. Today we again learn a painful lesson and shown the areas we need to get better.
The last two weeks have been below our expectations. We again have another great challenge against Glenelg.

On a side note it was positive to see such a large crowd at an SANFL game. I hope Westies supporters take up the challenge to increase our support at all games but especially at City Mazda Stadium. We need every Bloods supporter to start coming to games and bring plenty of friends ... “The strength of the wolf is in the pack”. See you all on Friday.

Regards,
Andrew Collins

You would think after suffering losses in 5 of the last 6 against us he would try something differant.
They will never beat us in that type of game, their best bet is to get into a shootout with us, they have plenty of good goal kickers

How about trying to kick goals when you're team is challenged Collo ... it ain't rocket science.

Forget boxing matches, this is how Bass and Collins should settle their differences with a real man's game.
