Maybe its the only way forward but I find it a bit uncomfortable clubs are asking for this in the current climate.

They must be in struggle town big time to be asking so early.
There’s only so much to go around unfortunately.

Some old collegians clubs in the ammos may have more teams than SANFL Clubs.
The reserves comp could disappear in 2021.

But also getting on the front the maybe. I think all clubs will do this as I suspect the SANFL are driving strategies.

I guess it is a simple message, if you can donate then do so.

Sturt, Norwood, West and Glenelg have donation pages on the same site too.
South has 2 but they're for juniors and the women.

All clubs surely have wealthy supporters that could chip in to help ease the burden

Is this maybe the SANFL's plan? Asking clubs to go out and see what they can raise to support as a 1st step?

I'm now like a number of people, unemployed. My prospects are high however but a lot of people, supporters and members are now unemployed. I'm not having a go at the clubs nor the unemployed but for clubs to survive, they need a minority of people to support them. Even those employed who may feel like they are in danger of losing their jobs will not forgo money to an SANFL club. The plight of the SANFL clubs, like many are in jeopardy of folding completely.

Agree. Even if you are employed you really don’t know what’s next in the current climate.

I personally don’t think this is going to end well.

Opportunity for all to revise the current system and make decisions for the long term of club survival .

I believe a change in squad size and a focus on elite 19 program .

Possibly a senior squad of 30 with no reserve program which would be replaced with elite 18 or 19 squads . Also how many assistant , assistant coaches are viable .

I urge every one to make a donation to help their club through this very trying times. If 3,000 supporters/members donate $20 each to their club, that's $60,000 that's helping your club.

Think about how much money you have spare not going to games this year, not going to the pub for meals and drinks. Donate the money you're saving staying home to your club. Every little bit helps. Certainly Membership and merchandise helps but fork out a little bit more in a donation.

that's easy for the "haves" to say, but Centrals doesn't have anywhere near 3,000 members & we are in a predominantly lower socio-economic area, there isn't any disposable income at the best of times, people won't be handing over money to a sporting club for no real reason at all.

I'm not buying that, how many people would have dropped $20 in the pokies over the last 12 months in the area? How many would have dropped $20 in Grand Central itself?
