just to provide clarity in regards to my Ben and Josh

I am not saying North has breached or is in danger of breaching the salary cap, what I am saying is ex AFL players like Ben and Josh, do not come to the club for minimum wages

Its all conjecture anyway.
Jars has given Josh until the middle of December to make a decision but all reports are that he'll give it away as he only wants to play if his mind is 100% for it and that's not the case at this stage.
And who knows? Ben Hart could end up lining up on a half back flank for Geelong next year.

it's interesting

Geelong and the Bombers were the big tip, but this morning Essendon has ruled out Drafting Hart

the Cats seem solid with tall defenders on their list, I think if an opportunity comes for Ben at AFL level it will be from a club straight out of left field who has played it's cards pretty close to their chest

all the best to Ben, no matter which way the cards fall for him

Congradulations to North if they can bring former players back after they finished in the afl. I love it when my club does it to. As a matter of fact, there should be a provision for former players coming back from the afl, not be part of the salary cap. These boys have their sanfl club at heart should be given every opportunity to give back a little bit. They should be treated very much like marquee players are in the A-League. Only if they decide to continue with another SANFL club then they should be part of the salary cap.

This aside I still disagree with most things you say Wedgie
But it was more than a victory for Greece. It was a stirring example to free people throughout the world of what a few brave men can accomplish once they refuse to submit to tyranny.

Great post.
Agree local players should not be totally included in a salary cap, makes sense.
The stalwarts coming back should be virtually exempt.

Maybe a compromise where a we could have 2 salary caps
A SA bred cap.
A non SA bred cap.

Each club should have concessions for their own bred players.

Ben Hart should be exempt from a salary cap being a veteran as well.

A SA bred cap.
A non SA bred cap.

this would be a nightmare to police

why dont we scrap the cap all together and just have an import rule

Salary Cap

Postby dash61 » Sun Nov 19, 2006 3:10 pm

Lets be honest, its going to come under a lot closer scrutiny this year and any breachers just need a Tuckey to get the pooh's on and other clubs may be in the same boat, a koops, a haynes, a cuppido, a baird, an anyone could really upset the apple cart and any one caught until it is more transparent " I say stiff shite"

Not really effecting league sides, but certainly the depth of the clubs:

Renmark has picked up former Central Districts utility Aaron Camplin.
Moving to Renmark as a high school teacher.

North Adelaide under 19 captain Matt Bartlett also transferring to Renmark.
