It is law 20.3 in the VCFL Handbook, as law 20.1 states: "this law applies to all competitions other than AFL"
My apologies.

thanks Kahuna

I am looking forward to having Cowan back in the side, Musolino can be considered a bit unlucky, he had a very good second half of the year last year, while by all reports Schiller's form in the trials was very good.

not to mention we need to find room for O'Sullivan and Graham

All in fun....

Anyone else comment....?

Lighting seemed better this year...?

Anyone else...?

Nah mate, I didn't see any crowd mishaps at Victor.
North fans should be pretty safe tonight as the sort of people that carried on last year only look for trouble when they lose.

A flare?
Oh no, please don't let some more soccer crap creep into the game.

How was the battle?
How did Westhoff go at full forward on Schubert Im assuming?

Schell played the whole game down back, but managed to get down forward to kick a goal. I'm not sure about Schell down back. I personally prefer him in the forward lines.

Westhoff was OK. I think he ended up with at least 2 goals. Not sure who was playing on him though. The one to watch up forward is Lawry. He was really impressive.

I'm hopeless at remembering who kicked the goals, but these are the ones I remember...

J Gowans 2
C Gowans 1
Slade 1
Callinan 2
J Westhoff 2 I think
Lawry 1 that I can remember. He kicked the first goal of the game. He also missed a couple.
Ware 1 or 2

Nice win by the Dogs. North seem to have been rather unimpressive so far this year. Are they basing themselves on peaking at the right time this year or are they just not playing as good as last year?

Agreed too, Ive listened to all coaches and can get closer than most, Laird is the best coach going around IMHO, has always impressed me heaps. I compare him to Cahill.

There was about 5600 last year and a mate of mine estimated more tonight.

Sydney-Dog I agree with you regarding Musolino,he was pretty stiff to miss out tonight and from what I saw had a very good game in the ressies.Credit to young Havelberg who fitted in and and showed confidence and poise.I think Luke Cowan may have some difficulty breaking back into the side and may pay for a lack of consistency last season.Heath Lawry as stated earlier in this thread has looked most impressive and looks to have a mortgage on CHF.

I mentioned on a couple of occassions during last year that I felt North's list had too many runners that were good attacking players when in space, but were not as strong defensively or in close

After the finals, my thoughts were, for North to be successful in 2007 they had to recruit players that were

1. strong bodied
2. very good in close
3. very strong defensively

I would be interested in North supporters views on this

For the dogs

They definitely needed more speed thru the Midfield, and Height and Flexibility with Key Position players.

Callihan, Williams and Slattery gives us that speed, while Lawry and Grima gives us that height and flexibility

So I am excited about our chances for this year

Kahuna

On Cowan, he struggled with injuries last year, no doubt fully fit he would be in our best 21

it can only be a good thing if he needs to fight for his spot

I think that was more of an issue up to perhaps the end of 2005.
I think these days its more of an issue of the style of footy we play.
As many point out and I agree "flashy" footy may get lots of wins during minor rounds but dour hard working footy consistently wins more games than not in the big games or finals.
