Rd 3 2007 West vs Glenelg

All discussions to do with the SANFL

full credit to westies for taking almost all their opportunities when they got them, for us i'd think we have actually gone backwards from what we saw last year, maybe the new players need a month of footy to adapt to the sanfl & their teammates in match conditions, but when you get 6 or 7 easy set shots at goal & miss you pay the penalty

BAD KICKING IS BAD FOOTY IT ALWAYS HAS BEEN & STILL IS JUST LOOK AT SYDNEY TONIGHT THEY COULDN'T GET THE SCOREBOARD PRESSURE ON ADELAIDE EITHER EVEN THOUGH THEY HAD ABOUT THE SAME AMOUNT OF THE BALL

as for the umpiring it is not quite as bad as you make out, i agree we got some iffy decisions but so did west (yes we got a few more) i recall the ball going clearly out twice near the practice pitches with the boundary umpire miles back & not calling it with one resulting in a goal, mind you the bay player should've kept going until he heard a whistle, most of the decisions we had today is what the umpires have been instructed to pay which means a smart player will adapt & as soon as he is touched or tackled from behind he will fall forward & get the free, the game is getting as soft as the afl
i thought secret groups were a thing of the past, well not on websites anyway

Something very noticable in the crowd today was the "disbandment" of the Snouts today, they were all over the Southern hill with no cohesiveness.
Did it rub off on their footy team?
Ironic that some Snouts have been big in talking about how other supporter groups have had issues when there was definately no cohesiveness and even a degree of resentment today?
No coordinated chants like the last 2 years, just a rabble where some other supporter groups just keep on doing what they've done for decades. :?
Might have been the difference in the end.

Didn't see the game but interesting comments by the Weed in the Sunday Mail regarding the umpiring. Did notice though that one R Williams was among the trio of whistleblowers so no doubt the game was over officiated.
Can any of the Glenelg fans answer why highly rated Victorian junior and Power listed player Travis Boak is not in the senior side at the moment? I'm sure he will be next game though given a second straight best player award in the reserves.

How's Scott Lewis looking at Glenelg?
Rumour has it he's already looking to come back and play at Loxton North.
Sad if that's the case.

The general feeling is that he is a bit unlucky not to play League yet and is a chance to play this week.

And knowing Scott if he is not in the 1's starting 18 he will be gone. He is a star, if you doubt me, ask him!

May i remind you of the score last time these two clashed in the minor round? A 4 point win does not make us Westies "bitches"

That's interesting, I've known Scott for a few years and never known him to be that way.
