Cheers mate, I deleted my post with ins and outs since you had the whole team (and I stuffed up one).
Good looking side, should be a ripper of a match, Im really looking forward to this one.

i'm suprised coad can't make the sturt team     has anything happened off field ?? or is his form down that much ?

The coach keeps playin him in the back lines - he is a forward and if left there he would show his worth.

I hope he gets through it !!!

Michael Coad needs to play where he is instructed to play. This is where the problem lies.

His attitude, unfortunately, is all wrong. He, perhaps correctly so, believes his best footy is played up forward but unfortunately when he has been given the opportunity to do so he has rarely taken it. When he plays in the backline he is nowhere near disciplined enough to be an effective defender but when shifted up forward, he doesn't play the position (half forward) at all well either.

Perhaps his confidence being low is the problem but until he can start performing on a consistent basis, week in week out, he will find himself playing a lot of reserves footy because at the minute, options such as J. Johncock are the better ones.

By the way, I like the look of our side to face North and feel confident we can give them a real go.

could not be more truthful MST, I wondered how Coady would go this year having known him for a number of years and a fair idea of how he ticks and with Rick's family being friends with my parents I have a good idea that Rick and Coady would not be suited to each other.

Am keen to see how Gregory goes, he has played very well in the 2s and deserves his spot in the league team.
But it was more than a victory for Greece. It was a stirring example to free people throughout the world of what a few brave men can accomplish once they refuse to submit to tyranny.

Not sure that many of the posters under Mr66's thread on suicide - many of whom have lost family and friends or been impacted by such - would appreciate this. Indeed, I have 2 cousins myself who have suffered from serious mental illness and I know a lot of farmers struggling with the drought who are highly vulnerable to depression at present. I've known 3 people who have committed suicide. So this one cuts pretty close to the bone for me.

Hence I would personally appreciate it if these types of remarks were avoided because in this era we should put them in the same category as chauvinism and racism.

Happy to take all the other flak on the chin however.

Coad is a good forward and was used in the backs previously due to lack of depth.

Rick MacGowan - Please put him up forward with Chambo as he needs some support.

Wasn't that long ago Coady kicked 90 odd goals in the 2nds.

Jimmy correct me if I'm wrong, but STURTS plan A is to go long to Chambers but is there a plan B because I sure didnt see my mate Rick implement one today. Also I would presume Sturt have been playing better than what they dished up today because except for 15 mins in the 3rd they were ordinary at best.

Sturt clueless as North bolts

WARREN PARTLAND

NORTH Adelaide again gave a strong indication they will have a significant impact in the race for the premiership with a convincing 46-point victory over Sturt at Prospect Oval yesterday.

The Roosters were rarely threatened, securing a 30-point buffer at quarter-time to hold the high ground for much of the contest.

The win has lifted them to second spot behind Central District.

Noted for their attacking flair, North proved they had a defensive edge to their game by keeping Sturt to just eight goals - five of which came in a 15-minute passage in the third term.

"We played a worthy opponent and Sturt will do some damage in the second half of the year - it's good for the competition," Roosters coach Andrew Jarman said.

"Our fitness and running power kicked in in the last quarter and the players didn't panic in the third quarter when Sturt came back."

The tone was set from the outset with the Roosters going on the attack and Sturt under the pump to withstand the barrage.

North's midfield, led by hard-working Dean Howard and ruckman Brett O'Hara, grabbed the ascendancy to provide the spark for wave after wave of attacking raids.

In contrast to the Roosters smooth movement, Sturt's decision-making and delivery going forward was appalling.

As Sturt coach Ricky Macgowan said later, the Roosters midfield worked tirelessly.

"North were very disciplined in getting numbers back very quickly," he said. "Their midfield worked a lot harder than us.

"Our midfield ran one way and theirs ran both ways - they dominated the clearances and ran hard forward and when we got possession they got numbers back quickly."

North's pressure at the contest suffocated the Sturt on-ball brigade.

It took the Double Blues 24 minutes into the second term to kick a goal - evidence of North's defensive pressure combined with Sturt's shocking forward movement.

After an uninspiring first half, the match came to life in the third quarter when Sturt nailed five successive goals to close the gap to 13 points. Finally the Double Blues applied some pressure and found targets.

But it was a wasted effort with the Roosters kicking the next three goals in five minutes to end the contest.

The home side responded magnificently to the Sturt recovery, turning up the heat to regain the momentum while their opponents slipped back into the bad habits of the first half.

yeah mate, thats all we have....chambo has 25 odd goals or something while the next bloke has 6 or so....compare that to say port who have many many multiple goal scorers, then yeah, we def need a second option....michael coad should be given as extended run their as i think we may be able to cope without him down back....why he played 2's is beyond me he needs to be promoted again next week...

mayb e ryan herring from the 2's could get a go next week up forward????

The 2s was an interesting game, I got there at half time when Sturt were up by 4 goals and by all reports Gilly played well (was only ever going to play the first half).
North went on to win the game in an exciting climax.

The reserves match was a thriller, great comeback by North and they got a couple of goals up but then Sturt fought back and it could have almost been a draw, very good game to watch.

Ryan Darling was terrible on Saturday after outstanding form in the first 3 rounds on the wing. Why did he start up forward? BTW Jaensch's two goals in the 3rd qtr were sensational for a 17yo.

I have been told from a very reliable source that Darling had a very bad virus and was vomitting before the game. I think that gives a clue as to his performance.
