Reported on the news tonight that Joel Tippett will sign with an SANFL club in the coming weeks. Would be a good pick up but it's a huge boost in crows chances of retaining his brother

Heres a team of ex bays players from last year :(

If Sturt get Ben then I'll be very happy with that extra bit of experience at my club.
However, reading that playing list would rip my heart out if it was my club especially considering your recent successes. So with that in mind I'll be magnanimous and just say that no one deserves that on their club.

Could there be a late riser in this. I'm interested in people's thoughts. Would a team like Norwood now being looking at Tippett as a potential replacement for S. Rowe??

Any news on the recruiting side as far as Norwood go??

Had not realized Murphy, Adlington & O'Grady were leaving and I also believed Rudolph was staying now? Did someone get a bit excited filling the team up or are all of those named in the side really going?

Unless of course, he only signs a 1-year contract.

Adlington announced he was leaving at the end of last season, O'Grady before pre-season.
Murphy not sure about, could go either way, but hasn't been at training recently.
Rudolph has been at every training session so far

If we sign Tippett at Westies this week and then the Crows rookie him does he still go in the mini draft where Sturt could still then pick him before us? Alternately we sign him, he gets rookied and then we still have to use our only selection in the mini draft to secure a player we have already signed?

Pretty sure that is how the rules work. Ridiculous situation for clubs to be in.

All SANFL contracts have a clause that sets the player free if they are drafted. He'd have to have spent last season on Wests list to be considered a West player when the mini draft rolls around.

Would be even more fun if he was still available by the time Westies got a pick, and West picked someone else.

Would create new levels of hilarity if he did get a gig with the Crows, was mini-drafted to Westies, and the Crows then prevented him from playing Foxtel Cup.
