Disappointing that we couldn't get Hately or Montgomerie back, and keep Carpenter.
Our recruiting seems ok at this stage, a couple more with senior experience would be nice.
How many of the recruits are going to be in our best 22.

Lots of variables with new players, especially coming from interstate. Some settle and take their opportunities quicker than others. I think Billy Iles had 2 games in his first season with us, and now is one of our best players.

I think Harper and Callinan may be eased in whilst the other 5 would all be contenders for round one league. This group of recruits clearly offsets the losses with just Linke and Hoskin being OUTS from our Finals side.

The Mayor of Brinky is back at the dogs as the ruck coach.

Still state his ‘little bro’ Mongrel is the better footballer and still playing ;)

Club is committed to Ryan Pickering, and a couple of new tall lads to carry the ruck. Buckets will be an asset in this regard.

100% great get

I know footy is a results industry, but regardless of results there seems to be lots of good happening at the club since the Edwards/Ross appointments.

It feels the club has its mojo back and hopefully results translate but it feels if nothing else we are having a red hot crack, that didn’t seem to be the case 3/4 years ago.

The potential recruit from WA looks & sounds like a hard, tough midfielder, a bit of a bull they say.
Hopefully he's announced officially very soon.

Apparently we spoke to him several times!
And why not?
He's probably going to play in the VFL, so why not us!

Dogs have officially announced their 9th recruit, Kade Dittmar.
He is a 20yo 188cm mid/defender who has played 2 seasons of regular league with Esat Perth.

Potentially 7 out of 9 of the newbees could play league in round one.
The two new talls are the least likely, with both being brought in as longer term propositions whilst they develop (with Pickering) under Buckets' guidance.

Selectors will have a nice challenge in fitting the new lads into the 22, considering our strong finish. They also have Ethan East to add.

From our last named side, only 3 are forced outs (Dahms, Hoskin and Linke). The squeeze is on.

He went to Darwin to play over the summer, and has scored a job with the AFL up there.

This is all well and good, but us members* still want answers as to what happened with Jeff Andrews.

Jeff is still working in the vfl.

Are you thinking he is a chance to coach Port Power Reserves next year ??

The original post was back in 2020.

@whufc just needs to edit the title accordingly.
