For all the Roosters, Bloods, Tigers & Double Blues supporters
who want to keep track of their teams progress on Saturday.

107.9 LifeFM on Saturday will be

- Calling the Eagles v South game at Woodville with Jon Symonds & John Nankivell

- Giving regular score updates from the studio of the other three games.

- Crossing live to Kym Morgan @ Prospect Oval for reports at Quarter, Half, Three Quarter and Full Time

- In the second half giving goal updates of Glenelg v Sturt as they happen. (Thanks to a mini TV we puchased)

- Staying on air past the end of the Eagles v South match giving updates from the Bay until that match concludes.

Regards
Phil Herden

That's disgraceful Phil, only attempting to cover 3 games at once is poor form.

Well done. :D

Cool, John Nankivell rang me and asked me to send scores through, if you've got someone already it'll be one less thing I have to do. Give me time to have a beer in between website updates and photos. :D

You are quite correct JTC...I readily admit that I'm still very much in a learning zone as I only got recruited to this wonderful game last year after a lifetime of supporting rugby union (always did like men with odd shaped balls  ). But I'm well and truly hooked now.

BDP...you'll not convert me honey...the Redlegs got me first and my heart belongs to them whether they want it or not

Hopefully see you boys here tomorrow for scores and banter.

Regards
JAS

JAS, I had the impression that you were a transplanted Aussie, but from the above I infer that you might be a native Scot?

If this is the case - how on earth did you manage to get into Aussie Rules, and the SANFL/Norwood in particular? I wouldn't have thought the SANFL got much exposure in your neck of the woods.

I'm actually a transplanted Pom. A military career dumped me in NE Scotland and I ended up staying when I was demobbed. I had been exposed to Aussie Rules as a kid...it was occasionally on tv and my father had got into it having spent time in NSW in the 50's. I happened to get chatting about sport to an Aussie in an online game and he is an avid Legs fan and he pointed me to the Legs site and forum and to listening online...the rest as they say is history :D

Christ could we have got any more off topic here...sorry folks.

Regards
JAS

Aussie rules on the tele. It was better when it was the old VFL. Used to get a 2 hour programme that covered all the VFL games. 1 main game, the rest just highlights. They also had a round up at the end of the show, VFL tables, mark of the day, top ten goals and a bit of analysis.

The best thing though, was they used to flash SANFL scores (occasionally) across the bottom of the screen. In those day, that was the only SANFL news you could get.

Now, Aussie rules is only shown on Eurosport2, since Sky dropped it, a one hour show, less adverts and late starting times, and only show 1 game. No hightlights, no tables nothing, just 1 game. Last wek was Geelong v Port.

Must admit, it has been the best game I've seen this year. Better than the usual negative, sideways dross theyh nornally serve up.

Geez, whatever happened to the game :(

Thank god for SANFL

 ...I've no idea what footy I watched with dad...was back in the 1960's. Only have terrestrial telly so no Eurosport. Had a look but not worth the expense for one game a week...wouldn't watch much else as I can't stand soccer. If you liked the VFL John this might bring back some memories for you

Thanks JAS. Some leaps in that lot. Liked the runner coming on and smacking the opposition player.

Not really a great fan of VFL. It was all you could get then though and at that time any footy was better than none. Can't say the same today though. AvFL doesn't compare for me. Only from a personal point of view.
