Just got back from Norwood where I witnessed the South Reserves, with a commited team effort do a demolition job on Glenelg. Sorry I didn't write the scores down but it was an over 70 pt margin.
Well done to Pottsy and the boys for getting there. The job is only half done though. Jack would have liked what he saw .

Glenelg where minor premiers so I think this would have made them the best team all year. South only got the double chance when they defeated Norwood in the last minor round game ( finished 3rd). They had the worst percentage of all the teams that made it.
Do not take anything away from Trevor Potts he has a great rapor with his players.

Did Alex Splitt play for South reserves today.
I heard a few weeks ago he boycotted playing for South Reserves to play for Reynella in their first final.
Then the week later the paper had him as 4th best playing for South Reserves
Has Alex got a future at South now that there is a new coach there

Thanks Ricks for some reason I had a vision that south were pretty good all year, once again I was wrong

The last time South played the bays in the reserves Glenelg won by 16 goals. Great turnaround and result by the Panthers today. Jack was in attendance and was no doubt pleased to see that Souths oldest player was 24 yrs, and 7 players were still ellligble for u/19's.

full credit to south they played brilliantly and made us pay, it appeared we werent even interested.........
we play like that next week and we will lose again..........
the depth has been talked about recently at the bay, and with ressies playing like that, there is no chance any of them will play league in the near future, they would be lucky to hold spots in a ressie team!!!!

Just a stab in the dark, but with all the "disciplinary" measures taken by Pyman this year, wouldn't there be quite few top line players eligible to play finals for South's reserves?

i think with the league not making it its restricted mainly to those that played the last game in the 2's..............
i could be wrong and probably am, because I was surprised a couple of others didnt get dropped back, but i guess its good they kept the same lot, better to reward those that have done the hard-yards in the 2's then the league boys going up in grade getting rewarded.......

I'll agree with your last comment there, always good form to reward those that got them there. How would it work if it was restricted to only to the 21 that played the last reserves game? The numbers get made up by non-league players (ie. U19's U17's) if there are injuries? Don't mean to be sticky, just curious about how it works.

Any idea if the Ressies Prelim is played against the AFL Gf or if its played earlier in the day.
Preferably it'd be played at night on the Friday at Norwood Oval.

I'd be guessing it would be before the League Prelim Final at Adelaide Oval on Sunday, just like every other year.
