Nic Salter

the more I see of this lad he reminds me of Mathew Pavlich
oustanding first year debut
is footy smart, takes a good grab, has a big engine can play almost anywhere and knows how to kick a goal
could be a surprise packet in the draft
love to see the crows grab him

Yeah why would you want to play AFL and earn $70,000 in your 1st year for doing something you love. Ok training schedules may be double the SANFL but obviously the payments can be 10 fold.

I've heard two things about the draft - you don't have to be in it is one of them (as a player in any League). The other is that if you are an SANFL registered player you are automatically in it. Which one is correct?

Salter had played 4 League matches in 2006 - Rounds 16, 17, 19 and 20, but as a defender.

I can understand why the Crows are after Salter. There is something extra-special about this talented player. The Eagles will do very well to hold on to him next season.

The more I see of him the more I like. I thought ihe was a but too big and bulky to be a good mover at AFL level but he definitely is a smart player who can move fast and make quick decisions.

He's selling himself short if he doesn't give it a shot.

Agree Diss, these were my thoughts too until I saw him play in the midfield a couple of weeks ago. Still needs to work on his pace, but definitely has the potential.

Probably be rookie-listed by a Melbourne club and play in the VFL for the next two years.

the mail is pretty strong that Nic Salter was not going to nominate for this years draft, however the Crows have encouraged Nic to nominate for this years draft

The big question is, will Nic still be available in round 2 of the draft, I am assuming, the Crows will select Ebert at pick 10 if he is available

Nick Salter has already been interviewed by Hawthorn and I think he will be interviewed by the Crows this weekend.

Hopefully he goes to Port or the Crows. Would've thought Hawthorn would have been the worst club to go to with the amount of forwards they've got.

Aerie - When Nick was at the AIS, Hawthorn took a keen interest in him and have kept in touch. Nick made good friends with some of the current Hawthorn players at the AIS. Agreed the Hawks don't need anymore tall forwards.....if drafted would like to see him go to the Crows.
