Ideally I would like to see Jack do a Neil Curley and take us to no 1 in his first year!

I would hope for top three but would not be unhappy with the club being able to play in the finals in any place.

What I feel as success would be is for South Adelaide to actually become competitive to the other sides in the SANFL. That is ultimatley our major issue at present that we are not even remotley competitive when it counts.

The issue at South is that often people feel that the survival of the club is its success. That was true in the past, yet considering the cashed up nature of the club and the allocated recruiting areas it is well time for us to move on from that attitude.

I hope Roger Delaney gets appointed to the club if he is keen to take an assistants role under Jack. The more people that we have at the club that have a winning attiude and focus, the better!

That must be Todd Curleys brother .

I think the South fans and people close to the club will be the best judge of Jacks worth at South in the 1st year and it may not be have to be reflected in the Win-Loss column.

Correct. When Mickan took over Glenelg, I thought the same what sort of impact would he have...
So far 6th & 4th, so next year would look for a top three or GF, year after GF...
Just need improvement, so IMO for South would be a 6th..

Eagles look vulnerable for the first time in a while to me, while Sturt seemed to pull something out of the box. Will be interesting to see whether they do the same, especially considering their driving force was a bunch of older blokes. Glenelg appear on the way up, but have a few holes to fill. North and Central shouldn't have any problem making the 5 next year.

I think that Westies will also be much improved for next season and will likely be a good candidate to push out one of the existing sides for a place in the finals!

Don't make that mistake. Nothing takes care of itself.

Check every minute detail at least 3 times, then you can start to think it might be ok. Nothing can be left to chance.

They finished 8th out of nine in 2007.

If South were to finish say, 6th, I think it would be a successful year.

Souths fans, with word going around the traps of a few players leaving norlunga and the lack of success this year, would it be a bit unfair to say top 5, there is obviously a bit of rebuilding taking place down there. Another question is on two of your recruits, How did you find the season of the "BOOM" recruit in Predegast and also McGrath, of the games i saw on TV and when souths played west McGrath impressed me but Predegast was i thought a bit of an enigma????? your thoughts

Hi Dash,

All will have a different opinion, mine is that several players need to either leave of their own accord or be sacked by the club in order for the club to move forward and become successfull.

It was reported in Kevin Morris's report that the a number of players in the playing group had the coach sacked from the club. From my perspective as a member it is my opinon that the club has constantly tanked towards the playing group and in more decisions than just who coaches the club. There are several players to my knowledge who have activley participated in whiteanting the club, which says a real lot about a group that are supposed to be about playing for the colours and the jumper.

Despite the appointment of the new coach, little will be achieved if we have largely the same playing group next year. South have to make amends for many past wrongs and one of the steps that we have to be brave enough to face is a major cleaning out of the playing group. There has to be a reckoning for what has gone on. If we just try and sweep it all under the carpet we can kiss any hope of playing in the finals goodbye.

Rather than just give out new chances because a new coach has been appointed hopefully the club will look at freeing up the list and adding some fresh recruits to the club for a new start.
